Tekken Reviews
Despite the many inconsistencies and questionable decisions, this movie is a decent watch. Although the motivation for the main character is rushed, the fights are the movie's strongest aspect, but to anyone unfamiliar with the source material, the roster of fighters are nothing special as their spectacle is very surface level. Overall it is mostly enjoyable if you are a fan of the video game series. To others, however, it will most definitely feel forgettable and underwhelming.
Dope. I liked the part where it was like Dead or Alive.
Not even the fight scenes provide much excitement.
Tekken is a movie that was put on film. It had choreographed action scenes as well as scripted dialogue that paid actors did deliver. The film has the Tekken license as it uses Tekken character names. You can watch this film with your eyes and if you have glasses you will need to wear your glasses to see it. Unless you are sitting really close. The film has credits that display all the people who worked on, in and behind the scenes of the film. There is a post credit scene that was also shot on film and has actors acting out scripted parts. You can watch this movie. It exists. It is a movie of the last decade that was made for people to watch,
A pointless adaptation of a well known fighting game franchise that whoever wrote the story failed to adapt and follow the source material.
Boring watch, probably won't watch again, and can't recommend. I tried and fell asleep on this 3 times. There is plenty of things happening, but who cares, really? The movie goes far out of the way to disconnect the audience from the characters, world and action. Maybe I'll update this if I can ever get through it, but I can't see it being better than what I think it is right now. Unless you're just a big Tekken fan, go watch "Dead or Alive" instead.
After being a hardcore gamer as a kid to a teenager and now an adult in his 30's I will say Tekken the movie keeps the feel of the fighting and design looks to the game. The acting is mediocre but fare for Tekken fans like myself. Do I think that this movie deserves a reboot in the possible future? I'm personally not against it as long as there's a better script, bigger budget. However at the end of the day from watching this film I feel like I would of had more entertainment playing the actual game then watch it more than once.
2011's live action Tekken adaptation, is surprisingly faithful to the fighting game series. featuring some, but not all of the recognizable characters from the games. but its still really good & have some great fight scenes. definitely up there with 1994's Street Fighter & 1995's Mortal Kombat film adaptations.
Scempio che vandalizza uno dei videogiochi più famosi al mondo. Il torneo, apparentemente senza una logica, funge solo da contorno ad un dramma famigliare anni 80 che si trascina per tutto il film.
Just got done watching this movie, and this is a video game movie done right. Sure the canon was a little wonky, but that's fine. Great action. Decent acting. A fun movie and a must-see for Tekken fans.
An abomination. It gets points for casting Luke Goss and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, but loses ALL the points for using only a few recognisable characters from the game and not even trying to make Jack recognisable in ANY of his forms. The "plot" didn't need to be shoehorned in, and could easily have been left out in favour of putting in some kind of decent tournament action, especially for a movie about "The King of Iron Fist TOURNAMENT".
let's say that this movie is practically identical to the video game and this is perhaps a point at its disadvantage because it would have made it better with a new plot and not copied from the video game, also because the plot is: the protagonist has to challenge enemies in the ring to defeat the final boss
Loved this movie. Superb fighting and.the slills and fitness of the protagonists / actors is impressive. The story is pretty good too, knowing it.is an action film meant to.showcaee action. Not sure who these people are posting bad reviews but I suspect not exactly into actually doing stuff. I loved it. I train and I know how.mich work must have gone into the skills displayed. The leads are really cool.
I want to remake this. The storyline is much different than the story line in the game which is why no one seems to think anything is actually happening.... I would re write this and make it all make sense... But I wonder if there is still interest??
