Stylized foliage

This was my practical part for my Bachelor's Thesis at Cologne Game Lab! My main goal was to recreate this beautiful part of Berlin in a small playable level intended for a first-person shooter with several paths to choose from and corners to explore. The artstyle was intended to be stylized, so for texturing I used both procedural techniques in Substance Designer and hand-painting in Painter and Clip Studio Paint. I had the pleasure of creating plants and foliage for our game upcoming game Rawmen. Foliage textures were created from high poly models in Maya and Zbrush and then finished in Substance Designer. Additionally sculpted other assets and tiling textures.

Almost all of the foliage I made for Palia was made using hand painted textures and SpeedTree. Since Palia is cross platform with the Nintendo Switch, it was imperative that the foliage in the game be made cheaply, which SpeedTree is excellent at doing.

My first stylized texture! It's been a while I wanted to mess around with stylized, since I love the style. Lowpoly plants using Maya and Photoshop.

Currently WIP, the shader was made by Silvia Raponi.
