The Niagara Peninsula has a moderate climate all year round due to its two natural boundaries - Lake Ontario and the Niagara Escarpment. Lake Ontario absorbs heat energy during the summer, releasing it slowly over the winter as long as there is open water. For this reason, the Niagara Peninsula is one of the few regions in Canada, apart form other areas of Ontario and certains reigons of British Columbia, which are capable of large-scale commercial production of tender fruit and wine grapes.

A trip to a local peach orchard. The peaches were tiny but tasty. The "help" was not helpful, quite rude actually. Won't be going back.

Coconut Ice was a new peach varieties released by HortResearch. It has large pink-red fruit with crisp, sweet white flesh.
