I have heard some people say when they put them in before the peony begins to grow. It allows the peony to grow straight up from the very beginning. I really just love them when I need them, and the fact that I can then remove them and use them in other places in the garden. Plus, I love that. They are a little bit shorter because you don’t see them at all, they blend into the garden. Comment below, and I’ll send you the link to them. We use these all throughout the growing season to support all sorts of different flowers in the garden. And now I’m off to play with peonies! Amy Powers on Instagram: "Have you been growing herbaceous peonies in your garden? They’re very easy to grow and they produce beautiful flowers that usually smell great too.

They are hardy in zones three through eight. They don’t require any fertilizer and they don’t like too much water or very dry soil.

Plant them in a full sun location where they will receive six hours or more of direct sunlight. Harvest when you squeeze the buds and they are as soft as a marshmallow. before bringing your peonies indoors, dunk them in a bucket of water and swirl around for several minutes to knock any bugs off.

For bigger blooms, it is a good idea once the buds start to form that you snip the two side buds off any main stem. This will allow the plant to focus all of that stems energy on one flower in Peony Farm, Bucket Of Water, Peony Garden, Bug Off, Plant Hacks, One Flower, Peonies Garden, Gardening 101, Diy Gardening
