Northern girls

In 1958, Northern Bath Tissue introduced the "American Beauties" girls in its advertisements. The portraits were painted by the artist Frances Hook and first appeared on the associated packaging in 1959.

Clipped from a Northern toilet paper advertisement, published in the May 1959 issue of Family Circle magazine. Northern had a series of five different girls that they used on the packaging for their toilet paper. The girl with the snow and mittens was on the "Snow White" rolls. They could also be bought as prints from Northern. I had this one hanging in my bedroom when I was little.
