A mosaic is a pattern or image made of small regular or irregular pieces of colored stone, glass or ceramic, held in place by plaster/mortar, and covering a surface. Mosaics are often used as floor and wall decoration, and were particularly popular in the Ancient Roman world

Personal project and experiment creating a ‘Fauxsaic‘ – a digitally created, typographic mosaic. This was inspired by a trip to Greece and the subtle colour palettes found in the natural stone, architecture and landscapes. The type and tiling were drawn on an iPad Pro in Procreate, then coloured up in Photoshop.
