Lily dollhouse

Last year for my birthday my dad got me a 1:12 scale dollhouse kit produced by Greenleaf Dollhouses called "The Lily". The building is almost identical to some of the gorgeous historical buildings I grew up around, and I fell in love with it immediately. I've been planning the wallpapers, flooring and fixtures since the day I received it, but life interfered (as it always does) and I only was able to crack open the kit and get to work this past weekend. So now that the staircases and the shell are completely dry, I went ahead and primed all of the shell walls and painted the ceilings. I usually flip my dollhouse on it's sides so I have better access but be careful. The raw wood shell walls all look very similar and it's easy to confuse a ceiling or a wall for a floor. Now that the third floor paint is dry, I can begin wallpapering it. Remember that the supports are visible in the interior of this attic. There are no walls in the dollhouse to cover them up like on the Beacon Hill Dollhouse. After the wallpaper dried, I stained the roof supports. It just seemed the easiest way to finish them. You can paint them of course or if you're really patient, you can even try your hand at wallpapering them. Remember to not glue them at the top where they meet, only…

After everything had dried overnight, I painted and installed the front roof trim. Remember it’s a like a hood over your brackets and it rests flush to the front edge of the roof edge trim. Again clamp and let dry. Spackle everything and touch up paint. I installed all of the porch trim and hand rails on the porch.
