1. Duck Walk: Skates in a “V”, take small steps by lifting one leg after the other to move forward

2. Lock your heels together. This will make you very stable for when you want to get up and start skating

3. Use your knee as anchor to get up after a fall. Start by getting on your knees, placing one foot and front of you and push yourself up with your hands on your knee. As you get up, again place your skates in a “V”

4. Snowplow Stop: Bend your knees, point your toes inwards and push your ankles out. Try to shave the ice with your skates
