But what is a perennial? Well its any plant that lives for more than two years - ie it comes back year after year. You can also often take cuttings, or divide some varieties of perennials in the Autumn or Spring, to make free plants. So perennials offer really great value for money. And you don’t need to buy big pots, you can start small and let them establish. I’ve chosen a mix of reliable and (usually!) hardy plants here that repeat bloom/flower over a long period. I found lots of perennial flowers I knew would grow back each year and some that would spread.
So I hope this helps! Lots of them do survive in pots too if you don’t have many borders or flowers beds to plant them up in! 🩵.
