The Chicago Skyway or Toll Bridge is 7.8 miles long, carrying interstate 90 from the Indiana Toll Rd. to the Dan Ryan Expressway on Chicago"s farthest southside neighborhood. The Chicago Skyway was first called the Calumet Skyway. It started construction in 1957. It was originally built to connect State Street to the Indiana Steel Mills. The Skyway opened April 16th 1958.
