Snow covers Lost Dutchman State Park. Named after the fabled lost gold mine, Lost Dutchman State Park is located in the Sonoran Desert, 40 miles east of Phoenix. Several trails lead from the park into the Superstition Wilderness and surrounding Tonto National Forest. Take a stroll along the Native Plant Trail or hike the challenging Siphon Draw Trail to the top of the Flatiron. Stovepipe Wells sand dunes, Death Valley National Park Even though it was a full moon, I had to use some alternative light sources to get the effect I wanted. Used a Craftsman work light (right hand-side) and a standard flashlight (left hand-side) here. Canon EOS 40D, with the 15mm Fish eye Lense - no photoshop here.

Owens Valley and Sierras from Big Pine Rd, 11/29/03. I keep thinking this looks too unreal, but it hasn't been pushed very far. A little extra contrast to remove some haze is all.
