Retail giant Toys R Us have stopped categorising toys by gender on their website, amid pressure from campaigners who say it puts girls off science toys and makes boys feel they can't play with dolls.

We took a look at Toys R Us over the years, from its swift rise, downfall due to e-commerce competitors like Amazon, and attempts at revitalization.

I first noticed this abandoned Toys R Us in Jacksonville last summer, but I didn't get a chance to take photos of it that time, and I regretted missing the opportunity to take photos of this building. While I was in Jacksonville last weekend, I knew I had to go back to take photos of this Toys R Us.

Toys 'R' Us is set to return to the U.S. market with the opening of several stores following its closure last year. It was reported that around six outlets could open at Christmas, with an e-commerce site.
