What’s New in Helix IPLM?

IPLM Core 2024.2

Single Sign-On (SSO)

IPLM Core now supports single sign-on (SSO), using the Helix IPLM Authentication Service. SSO improves system security, increases productivity, and improves the end-user login experience.

Enhanced Perforce Streams Support

This release enhances IPLM Core’s native DM support for Streams by enabling 'revision' and 'filelist' releases in IPLM. This allows users to determine what they want to include in any given release.

Helix IPLM’s native support for the P4Stream DM type IPs enables IPLM users to benefit from the dynamic, intuitive branching and merging capabilities of Perforce Streams.

CDO (Customer-Defined Object) Hooks 

CDO Hooks allow admins to run a script before or after an action to enforce custom business logic, delivering more powerful capabilities for customers who are customizing their IP quality rules and/or workflows. 

Alias Server Hooks

This release enhances the alias server hooks to help admins ensure users in your organization are using aliases correctly.

IPLM Core 2024.1

Neo4j 4 Cypher Support

With this release, Helix IPLM now supports the Neo4j 4.4 Cypher query language. Benefits of Helix IPLM’s upgrade to Cypher include:

• Immediate performance improvements as well as enabling additional, ongoing performance improvements over time.
• Enables next-generation causal clustering to improve reliability and performance for remote teams around the world.

This release requires Neo4j 4.4 or later 4.x series. Neo4j is the high-speed graph database used by Helix IPLM. Cypher is Neo4j’s visual graph query language that provides a more powerful, efficient, and intuitive way to query the Neo4j database. 

With this release, the naming convention for IPLM Core changes from 3.x.y to 2024.x.y, starting with 2024.1.0.

IPLM Core 3.6

Streams Support

With this release, Helix IPLM Core now supports Perforce Streams, the superior branching and merging functionality in Helix Core, as a native DM type. Streams, also known as P4Streams, will now work seamlessly with Helix IPLM out of the box, without the need for a custom DM handler.

Helix IPLM’s native support for the P4Stream DM type IPs enables IPLM users to benefit from the dynamic, intuitive branching and merging capabilities of Perforce Streams.

Helix IPLM Web 2024.5

Create/Edit IP: Resource (Display & Browser) Enhancements

This release adds more context and information when adding or editing resources in the Create/Edit IP interface to improve the user experience and UI. Users can now use drop-down selectors to select Line and Version, by Version or Alias. You’ll see more data about the Line & Version you’ve selected. When adding a new resource, you’ll also see a new confirmation page to ensure you’re adding the right resource. More Create/Edit IP enhancements to come in future phases.

UX/UI Enhancements

This year, we are continuing to expand upon the user experience improvements we brought to Helix IPLM Web in 2023. This release consolidates IP Details on collapsible cards for better visibility of IPV details and improved navigation, ease of use, and efficiency.

This release also improves IPV Bill of Materials (BoM) navigation by consolidating the Resources and Contents pages into a single page, with Resources (now called “Hierarchy”) and Contents visible on tabs within the page.

Flat Hierarchy View

The Hierarchy page (previously called "Resources") can now be “flattened” from a hierarchical tree view to a single-level list to make it easier to view and parse large lists of resources. The flat view provides a more flexible visualization for sorting, filtering, and understanding resource information.
