Star Trek: Section 31 (Paramount+)

Michelle Yeoh reenters the Star Trek universe as Philipa Georgiou, former empower of the evil Terran Empire, stuck in our universe and now running a ritzy cosmic nightclub. She is pulled back into Starfleet's covert Section 31 to prevent a weapons trade in her place of business. If you find yourself lost in space, you can watch the Star Trek movies and shows in order to catch up.

Lovers Anonymous (Netflix)

In this delightful eight-part Turkish dramedy, Cem is clinical about love. So clinical that he runs a love hospital to help patients take control over what he believes is a disease. Then a professional rival turns up in the form of Hazal, the boss' daughter who has completely opposite theories and practices in the field and in life.

Whiskey On The Rocks (Hulu)

This is a based-on-actual-events series where the events in question seem too far-fetched to be real. In October 1981, drunk Russian sailors ran a submarine aground in Sweden, causing an international incident that's played to mostly comedic effect here.

W.A.G.s to Riches (Netflix)

Netflix has been trying to get in on that Bravo reality TV action for a while now, and W.A.G.s to Riches is its latest venture. It follows the wives and girlfriends of celebrities and sports stars who have rich lives of their own. They, of course, fight.

Prime Target (Apple TV+)

Math can get you killed. At least it can in Prime Target, a show where a grad student's theory about prime numbers puts him in jeopardy.

Harlem: Season 3 (Prime Video)

This is the last season of Harlem, and friends Camille, Tye, Angie, and Quinn are tying up all the narrative loose ends, including who at the dinner table last season was getting congrats on their heretofore unknown pregnancy.

Gladiator II (Paramount+)

Ancient Rome was a crazy place but it didn't have a colosseum filled with sharks, Paul Mescal killing a baboon, or an emperor with a New York accent. All of these and a plot not much different from the original Gladiator can be found in Gladiator II. But at least it has Denzel.

About Chandra Steele

Senior Features Writer

My title is Senior Features Writer, which is a license to write about absolutely anything if I can connect it to technology (I can). I’ve been at PCMag since 2011 and have covered the surveillance state, vaccination cards, ghost guns, voting, ISIS, art, fashion, film, design, gender bias, and more. You might have seen me on TV talking about these topics or heard me on your commute home on the radio or a podcast. Or maybe you’ve just seen my Bernie meme.

I strive to explain topics that you might come across in the news but not fully understand, such as NFTs and meme stocks. I’ve had the pleasure of talking tech with Jeff Goldblum, Ang Lee, and other celebrities who have brought a different perspective to it. I put great care into writing gift guides and am always touched by the notes I get from people who’ve used them to choose presents that have been well-received. Though I love that I get to write about the tech industry every day, it’s touched by gender, racial, and socioeconomic inequality and I try to bring these topics to light.

Outside of PCMag, I write fiction, poetry, humor, and essays on culture.
