https://browser.engineering is a free, interactive book that explains in detail how to build the core parts of a web browser. Despite browsers being a ubiquitous part of everyone's daily computing life, before this book there was no clear explanation of how they work. As we explain in the preface and introduction, we think this not only needs fixing, but browsers and the web should be treated in much more depth in computer science education generally.
