In 2023, some My Nintendo members received emails on their birthdays, featuring a group of Toads, that were supposed to contain a special reward of 300 Platinum Points.
However, some regions were exempt from this promotion, but for an unknown reason, instead of simply not receiving the email, the users received emails that appeared to contain a gift but then apologized for the offer not being available. In addition, the message contains a typographical error, spelling “is” as “in”.

In an Iwata Asks interview with the developers of the original The Legend of Zelda for the NES, it was revealed that the game was originally called “Adventure Mario” internally, which suggests that it was possibly considered to star Mario at some point.

Concept art for a Mario and Rabbids crossover game, proposed to Nintendo by Ubisoft in 2010. While it was rejected at the time, that concept was approved several years later and resulted in the development of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, which was released in 2017.
