In Yoshi’s Island, the Bumpty penguin enemies are able to steal Baby Mario and run away with him, similar to Bandits. However, this is actually very difficult to see in-game due to Bumpties being unable to do so by simply touching Yoshi. When a Bumpty touches Yoshi, Yoshi is merely harmlessly bumped in the opposite direction instead (hence the name “Bumpty”).

In order to see this interaction, Baby Mario must already be in a bubble and a Bumpty must touch him to pick him up. The only way this can be done is by letting Yoshi be hit by something that is actually capable of hurting him while near a Bumpty, and then wait for the Bumpty to steal Baby Mario, which is complicated by the fact that most of the time, Bumpties appear in groups that do not include any other enemies, so nothing in that group can hurt Yoshi.

In the footage, Yoshi is hurt by jumping into the sharp icicles above him, which causes him to lose Baby Mario and the Bumpty to pick him up. As there are few places in the game where obstacles are placed like this, this interaction is likely to not be seen by the majority of players.

A 1996 Super Mario 64 manga suggests as a joke that the reason Mario is able to surf on water using Koopa shells in that game is because a Koopa Troopa is inside, propelling the shell forward by paddling.

In World 6-4 of Super Mario 3D Land, there are Prongos (the spiky jumping enemies) a short distance away from a Wallop (the walking stone enemy). By luring one of the Prongos over to the Wallop and timing Mario’s movements precisely so that the Prongo lines up a jump onto Mario, but Mario dodges and the Wallop moves into that space instead, the Prongo will become stuck upside-down inside the Wallop.

The Wallop will then proceed to wear the upside-down Prongo as a hat in the manner shown in the screenshot, indefinitely.

In Paper Mario: Color Splash, the beginning part of the game consists of Mario going through a number of predetermined scenes in Port Prisma while accompanied by Peach and Toad. Both Peach and Toad alternate between following Mario around in some scenes and standing in specific spots in other scenes.

By using a glitch whereby Mario can jump up underneath a tree to clip up on top of it, allowing him to bypass invisible walls, it is possible for Mario to walk into an area of town where Peach and Toad would normally be standing around, while also simultaneously being followed by Peach and Toad. This results in there being two instances of both Peach and Toad being present, as seen in the screenshot.

In the Super Mario All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros. 2, a glitch will occur if the Mask Gate (also known as Hawkmouth) boss in World 7-2 is dealt two hits in quick succession. Normally, upon being dealt the last hit, the Mask Gate stops in mid-air and opens its mouth, allowing the player character to walk through.

However, if it is hit twice in a row very quickly as shown in the footage, it will fall offscreen, and a glitched sprite will keep falling from the top of the screen to the bottom indefinitely. In addition, since walking through the Mask Gate is the only way to proceed to the next room and this being impossible after killing it in this manner, the player character must die to have another chance to complete the level.
