Global smartphone shipments by vendor 2009-2024

In the second quarter of 2024, Samsung was the leading smartphone vendor worldwide, shipping around 54 million units, while Apple's toll reached close to 45 million units. Total shipments in the second quarter of 2024 amounted to almost 285.5 million units.

In the second quarter of 2024, Samsung reclaimed the crown of largest smartphone vendor in the world based on shipments. Overall, Samsung held almost 19 percent share of the smartphone market in the second quarter of 2024. 

In the second quarter of 2024, Apple was the second largest vendor of smartphones according to latest figures as it shipped around 45 million smartphones. This is a decrease compared to the the same quarter of the previous year, when Apple shipped around 44.5 million smartphones globally. In the second quarter of 2024, the company held almost 16 percent of the market.
