Kothamalli Thogayal / Coriander Thogayal / Cilantro Chutney

Today's recipes is one easy, spicy, tangy, tasty & healthy Versatile dip/chutney that you can use with rice, rotis, dosa, idly,Adai, curd rice or any variety rice, sandwich spread etc. This Kothamalli thogayal is a healthy, nutritious, iron & fiber rich recipe and most important thing is it has the property to increase appetite. So this is a good choice of recipe for growing kids to increase their appetite naturally. My Maternal Mom often makes this thogayal for us and we love this thogayal with rice & idly. This thogayal stays fresh & good in room temperature for up to a week and is perfect side dish to pack for Trip along with variety rice or idlis.
Actually this thogayal is meant to grind coarsely with less water and it should resembles like a pickle but bcoz of my blender i could not grind it with less water and made like chutney. But if u have nice blender like Indian mixie then u can make it perfectly. If u grind it with less water n little coarsely it can be refrigerated for a month. Now off to the recipe...

Cilantro Lime Chickpea Salad

For Day 5 of BM#16, I am going to share a simple and very refreshing Salad with my star ingredient, Chickpeas/Channa/Garbanzo Beans. Usually i make Sundals for my evening snack and sometimes will skip cooking n simply toss the legumes/dals with lime n carrots or even sometimes with yogurt. Salads which doesn't require cooking/half cooking process impress me a lot. One such recipe was this Cilantro Lime Chickpea Salad which I bookmarked @ Heather's Dish. In the original recipe, she added pulsed baby spinach but I skipped it becoz I didn't have it and also made it little Desi Style with the addition of kashmiri chilli, chaat masala and cumin powder. I loved eating this salad a lot than the chickpeas Sundal. This is very refreshing, tangy n lil spicy. Perfect for both Sunny & Rainy  days. Friends do give it a try, its very simple and I am sure you will also love it like me. Now to the recipe...

Jeera Gobi / Cauliflower Sabzi With Cumin N Cilantro

Again I am back with another interesting and flavor rich sabzi with Cauliflower/Gobi. This is a kind of dry sabzi with more onions and spices. I have a strong like/love to this combo - ginger, chilli, cilantro, the unique flavor n the strong spicy taste tempts me a lot....I have used this combination in many of my recipes like,Sweet corn Cilantro rice,Corn Adai,Gobi Paratha,Coconut chutney. I tried this recipe long back for Julie's EP series event ~ Cumin n cilantro but becoz of my health issue i couldn't able to send it in time. So Sorry dear!! I used blanched cauliflower florets for this sabzi and didin't cook it for long time, this way cauliflower stayed crunchy and absored all the spices and tasted so good. Do give it a try and let me know the result.

Coriander Chutney / Cilantro Chutney

A versatile chutney that can be served as sides or a dip with Pakora/Bhaji or as a sandwich spread or mix it wit pasta like a cilantro pesto pasta and even makes a comfort & filling meal with some hot plain rice & papad. Either way this cilantro chutney tastes great. Its an Indian style Cilantro Pesto with lots of flavor and taste. Coriander leaves/Cilantro  are rich in iron, minerals like phosphorous and also good source of antioxidants, Vitamin C & vitamin A. So its good to add this chutney at least weekly once to your diet.
My kid's  favorite chutney. He like this this chutney very much. Its easy for me to feed him with this chutney, he never troubles me. This chutney goes well with idly, dosa, pongal, chapathi, puri and white rice also. I added less coconut you can also add little more.
