New Jersey CRDA Approves New Evolution Gaming Offices in Atlantic City

New Jersey CRDA Approves New Evolution Gaming Offices In Atlantic City
Article by : Erik Gibbs May 24, 2024

Atlantic City is about to see a significant development with the planned construction of a new $75 million building at 2301 Fairmount Ave.

This project, supported by the Board of Directors of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA), will transform an underutilized corner of the city and, upon completion, house around 2,000 employees.

Evolution Gaming, a leading provider of live online gaming services, currently operates from various local casinos in Atlantic City, including the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Ocean Casino Resort, and Tropicana Atlantic City.

Despite employing approximately 850 people, Evolution Gaming is facing spatial constraints in its current locations, as stated by attorney Lloyd Levenson. The growing demand for their services has highlighted the need for a more expansive facility to accommodate their operations and workforce.

The planned four-story building will span 130,000 square feet and will be situated on a 2.2-acre lot currently used for parking, located across from Angelo’s Fairmount Tavern.

Scheduled to open in 2026, the new facility will operate around the clock with three shifts, ultimately employing about 2,000 people. Employee parking will be facilitated through leased spaces in the nearby Wave Garage.

The project is poised to revitalize a previously underdeveloped section of Atlantic City. The influx of employees is expected to boost local businesses, including Tanger Outlets The Walk, contributing to the economic vitality of the area.

Mayor Marty Small Sr. has expressed his support for the project, citing its potential to significantly benefit the community. Evolution Gaming has also made established contributions to local causes, such as refurbishing a gym at the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City.

As the first of its kind in the US, this facility will include studio space, offices, and ample room for large servers, reflecting similar facilities that Evolution Gaming operates in Europe.

The company’s expansion into the US market began in 2018, marking a significant milestone with agreements with Hard Rock Atlantic City and Live Casino in New Jersey.

Evolution Gaming’s operational model necessitates the presence of multiple locations across

various states to comply with online gaming regulations. The new building in Atlantic City is set to become the company’s flagship US facility, reinforcing its partnerships with licensed casino properties and legal online gambling systems.

The CRDA board has preliminarily approved the project, acknowledging its eligibility for leasing the property. However, the project still requires further approvals from the CRDA and other relevant entities.

Notably, Evolution Gaming has not requested financial support from the CRDA for this endeavor. By 2029, the building is anticipated to fully accommodate the 2,000 employees envisioned for the site.
