Caesars Holds Grand Opening for First Casino in Nebraska
Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino, marking Caesars Entertainment’s inaugural venture in Nebraska, recently celebrated its grand opening with a series of festivities.
The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, special giveaways, and commemorative Harrah’s shirts distributed to the first guests. Attendees had the opportunity to make historical first spins on the slot machines, place wagers at table games, and make inaugural bets at the Caesars Race & Sportsbook.
Notably, at 10:14 AM, a guest won the first jackpot of $1,876 on the Power Push slot machine.
Todd Connelly, Regional President of Caesars Entertainment, expressed his pride in the opening of Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino, highlighting the brand’s nationwide iconic status.
He talked about the joy of partnering with local friends and the community and anticipated a bright future for the property in Nebraska.
The newly inaugurated casino features a 17,000-square-foot gaming area, which includes 400 slot machines and 11 table games, providing visitors with a wide array of gaming options.
Additionally, the Caesars Race & Sportsbook, spanning 2,100 square feet, includes 17 viewing screens and a massive 163-inch video wall, creating an immersive sports betting and viewing experience. This opening is particularly significant as it marks the first time Caesars Sportsbook has accepted sports wagers in Nebraska.
Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino also offers diverse dining options with the award-winning restaurant Brew Brothers, founded by the Carano family in 1995, known for its quality and service.
The bar Wishbones complements the amenities, adding to the variety of culinary experiences available to guests. A Marriott Fairfield Inn and Towneplace Suites is currently under construction next to the casino and is expected to be directly connected to the casino once completed later this year, providing convenient accommodations for guests.
In collaboration with Columbus Exposition and Racing, Harrah’s Columbus Nebraska will host a one-mile racetrack, the longest track in the state. From August 16 to September 15, this track will facilitate 15 live races every Friday through Sunday, with an additional race on Labor Day.
These events will feature Grandstand seating for all ages and 21+ in-person and kiosk betting, making it a comprehensive entertainment venue for racing enthusiasts.
