4ThePlayer Expands US Presence With Pennsylvania iGaming License
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has officially approved 4ThePlayer.com to operate in Pennsylvania. This approval allows the company to offer its suite of gaming services and products to players in the state.

Coinciding with 4ThePlayer.com’s market entry, Pennsylvania legislators have introduced Senate Bill 1159, aiming to regulate financial transactions in online gambling. Introduced by Senator Wayne Fontana, the bill seeks to amend Title 4 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, which governs gaming regulations within the state.
Senate Bill 1159 proposes a ban on using credit cards to fund various online gambling activities. This includes prohibiting operators from accepting credit cards for sports betting, Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) contests, iLottery, and iGaming activities. The bill is designed to promote responsible gambling practices by limiting the use of credit for gambling purposes.
If Senate Bill 1159 is passed, Pennsylvania will join other states like Iowa, Tennessee, and Massachusetts in banning the use of credit cards to fund gambling activities.
Iowa implemented a similar ban on sports betting in 2020. Since then, Iowa regulators have issued over $20,000 in fines to operators who failed to comply with the credit card prohibition, demonstrating strict enforcement of the regulation.
The proposed legislation reflects a growing trend among states to tighten regulations around online gambling payments. The aim is to mitigate the risks associated with gambling-related debt and promote more responsible gambling behaviors among players.
