We would like to thank our English teacher Mrs. Tilotama Sen for assigning this
project, which was a great opportunity to learn new things and improve our skills.
And by new things, we mean how to use Google Translate and Wikipedia without
getting caught. And by skills, we mean how to make PowerPoint slides look fancy
and professional. We had a lot of fun working together, even when we faced some
challenges and disagreements. Like when we had to decide who would do the
actual work and who would just pretend to be busy. Or when we had to deal with
the annoying kid who always asked too many questions and gave too many
suggestions. We managed to overcome them with humor and creativity. And by
humor, we mean sarcasm and insults. And by creativity, we mean bribery and
blackmail. We think we did a good job and we hope our teacher will appreciate our
efforts. And by appreciate, we mean give us a good grade and not ask too many
questions. This project was a valuable experience that we will always remember.
And by remember, we mean try to forget as soon as possible
An Insight Of The Story
We Are Not Afraid to Die by Gordon Cook is a riveting account of a family's perilous
voyage across the Indian Ocean in their sailboat, Wavewalker. The narrator, his
wife, and their two children encounter a series of calamities, such as a massive
storm, a broken mast, and a flooded cabin, that test their courage, resilience, and
survival skills. Despite the dire circumstances, they manage to keep their spirits
high and their hope alive, drawing strength from each other and their faith in God.
The story is a remarkable example of human endurance, determination, and love in
the face of adversity.

ancient Egyptians built advanced boats that sailed on the Nile and the Mediterranean,

Ships/Boats using oars and sails. They also transported huge monuments by river. Other ancient
civilizations, such as the Cretans, the Phoenicians, the Greeks, and the Romans,
explored, traded, and fought at sea. They improved their ships by adding more
oarsmen, rams, anchors, and steering devices. They also learned how to navigate by
landmarks, stars, compasses, and maps. In the Middle Ages, the Vikings sailed across
the Atlantic and raided Europe. They also reached Greenland and North America. The
Arabs and the Chinese traded along the Indian Ocean and the South China Sea, and
invented new ships, such as dhows and junks. The Age of Discovery was a new era
when European explorers discovered new continents and routes. They also
established colonies, empires, and trade networks. Some of the famous explorers
were Columbus, Magellan, da Gama, Cabot, Drake, and Cook. They sailed on ships
designed for long voyages, such as caravels, galleons, and frigates. The Industrial
Revolution changed maritime history, as steam power and iron replaced sail power
and wood. Steamships enabled mass transportation of people and goods across the
oceans. The development of canals also facilitated maritime trade and travel by
connecting different seas and oceans. The 20th century saw further innovations and
challenges in maritime history, such as submarines, aircraft carriers, nuclear-powered
ships, container ships, cruise ships, and supertankers. Maritime warfare also became
more intense and destructive during the World Wars and the Cold War. Maritime
history also became more interdisciplinary and global, incorporating various fields of
study such as oceanography, cartography, hydrography, maritime law, naval history,
fishing, whaling, yachting, seaside resorts, lighthouses, maritime art and literature,
