Major Difference in Jaw Crushers
Hartl machines have an UP-THRUST toggle
system. This produces our patented
„Quattro Movement“. Pegson machines use
a down thrust toggle configuration. The
Quattro system allows for Hartl jaw
crushers to produce better shaped
material at a higher production rate with
less wear of the jaw stocks. The rocks
entering the inlet of a Hartl machine are
literally pulled into the chamber, as the
jaws move in a figure 8 motion with much
more upward movement. This ensures a
drastic reduction in the amount of
blockages at the inlet to the crusher
chamber therefore eliminating down Toggle
time
of the machine. in Down-Thrust Position!

• Bad Shape produced by
many Single Toggle Jaw
Crushers
• Poor material shape
• Not good for compaction
• Not good for strength

5
• Typical Material
From a Hartl Quatro Jaw Crusher
• High quality shape.
• Good for aggregate strength.
• Excellent quality shape for road sub base,
railway balast.

6
Major Difference in Impact
Crushers
The Hartl Powercrusher impactor box was
designed first and foremost to be mounted onto a
mobile unit. Pegson boxes were originally used in
stationary applications and later built onto
mobile units. This means that the Hartl box has a
different geometry that allows our machines to
be used as a primary breaker as well as a
secondary breaker. This in some case eliminates
up to two crushing stages.

• High Reduction Ratios

• High Quality End Product
• High Outputs

PC 1310 PRE-SCREENING 1412 PRE-SCREENING

PC1310i has a DOUBLE DECK grizzly , this means The Pegson machine has a SINGLE grid that shakes
that the deck in the photo above is the upper deck. with the hopper.
This is as standard a 55mm zig zag design, under this
deck is the lower screen deck. This screen size can be
selected by the customer, but comes as a standard 32mm
mesh deck.

The entire double deck grizzly is mounted on it´s own shaft

and spring system and shakes independently of the vibrating
hopper.
This allows for excellent pre-screening efficiency.

Summary of Trakpactor 428

• Pegson is pre-tensioned on the lower swing beam only

• Pegson has manually adjustable swing beams
• Pegson can accept 300-400mm in feed
• Pegson has standard rubber main belt
• Radio control with the Pegson is optional
• Pegson cannot crush and travel
• Pegson has manual clutch

•Excellent quality shape for road sub base, railway balast, aggregates

11
Sales Differences

• Hartl feed hoppers are manufactured entirely from Hardox material. Pegson also uses ST 52
material
• Hartl plants transport dimensions have been optimized during machine design
• Hartl plants, on average, have a 30% bigger hydraulic tank. With these additional reserves, the
oil temperature stays cooler and provides for higher hydraulic output.
• Up thrust toggle (Quattro Movement) on Hartl Jaws
• Spare part, wear part and machine pricing differences need to be checked
• All Hartl machines have diesel tanks in excess of 158 US gallons, this decreases down time
considerably
• All Hartl machines are equipped with 3/4“ thick seamless steel re-inforced main conveyor belts
that were specially designed for Hartl´s crushing plants
• Hartl machines have excellent clearance dimensions between crusher outlet and conveyor belt,
this is greatly beneficial when crushing in a recycling application where re-bar is present
• Hartl conveyor belts are able to be totally removed and the crusher actually reverses away
from the frame when replacement of the belt happens
