INTRODUCTION TO
BALLGAMES
SPORTS
An activity involving physical exertion and skill whichan individual or
team competes with another or others for entertainment is called sports.
BALLGAMES/BALLSPORTS
Are many form of game or sport which feature a ball. These include
games such as association football (soccer), baseball, basketball, and
american football. Such games have diverse rules and histories and are
of mostly unrelated origins.
Game
A competitive activity or sports in which players contend with each other
according to a set of rules.
Play
Is unsructured activity.It is regarded as an activity which is done for
rivalry, fulfillment and enjoyment.
Objective of Sports
To provide an environment for physical development for all.
To provide opportunity for everyone to showcase their talent in
sports field.
To promote sportsmanship.
Purpose of Sports
Connect and build with our peers and make lasting friendships. Sports bring
people together and facilities relationship building on and off the field.
Present limitless education and learning opportunities. Sports encourages
ongoing education in skill and personal development.
Promotes social change by utiliing sport as a platform to advance social
change. Sport create equal access and equal opportunity for all, and help
eliminate discrimination, violence and abuse.
Contribute to health by generating physical and mental energy that
can be transformed into action, creativity, and innovation.
Provide joy, sports allow us to express ouselves through simple
movement. Sports can improve the human condition when people
experience the simple joy of movement.
