Imagine, you are in a new class and have new
friends. What would you do?
Introduce yourself

The first step for introducing yourself is greeting. There are two kinds of greeting;

Formal Informal

1. Good morning 1. Hi
2. Good afternoon 2. Hey
3. Good evening 3. Hi yo
4. Hello 4. What’s up
2. Ask how someone’s doing.

• How are you and how do you do are the way we ask someone’s
doing/news formally.

Meanwhile

• How are you doing, how are things, and how is it going are asked
someone’s doing/news informally.
3. Introducing yourself
• Start with your name (full name and nickname)
Example: Hi, my name Alisha.
• Then your address
Example: I live in Jakarta.
• Position
Example: I work as a teacher in …… or I am a student of …..
• Qualification
Example: I graduated from …….
• Experience
Ex: I have 3 years of English program experience
• Family
Ex: I am the first in my family. I have … brother/s and … sister/s.
• Hobbies
Ex: I really like running/playing football/surfing the web.
• Age
Ex: I am 21 years old.
• Fun fact
Ex: I am afraid of dark/heights or I am interested in ……
