Electro and Sparky


Electro
-Electro is the nickname of a
robot built by the Westinghouse
electric corporation in its
Mansfield, Ohio facility between
1937 and 1938. He was
introduced on 1939 in New York
World’s fair.
What type of robot is Elektro

- Electro is a humanoid robot


made of wallboard with the
televox control unit forming the
body.
Components:

-Telephone relays

Describe
-Height: 2.1 meters tall
-weight: 118 kilos
-Elektro can peformed 26 different
tricks including.
Walking, talking, counting its
fingers and singing it has a
vocabulary of approximately 700
words.
Sparky
-Sparky was Electro’s robot dog
that can bark, sit and beg for
humans, wag his tail and can do
various other dog tricks.
What type of robot is Sparky

- Animatronic robot that


was design to be a partner
of Electro.

-Cables - Turns head when dog sits down
-Chain drive - For walking
-Sprocket - to drive walking
-Tail wager
-Crank Action - Lifts dogs leg up and forward
walking motor
-Worm gear and Shaft - for sitting mechanisim
-Sit down motor
-Reduction gear
Description
- Sparky was a Scottie dog that can
do various tricks and designed to be
a companion to Electro at the 1939
Worlds fair. It was modelled after a
Scottie dog breed.
