Explain about procedure text , starting from
definitions, functions, structures, language features, types, to examples of texts
Definition
Procedure text is a text that guides
us in making something, from stage to stage or steps of an activity and how to complete it Function
The function of procedure text is to
guide us in making or compiling something from the initial stage to the final stage, or until the thing we are doing is finished. Structure The structure of the procedure text is divided into four, as follows : 1. Objective Of course before making something, we must know what we want to make, or the purpose of what we want to do 2. Tools and materials
Once we know what we want to create,we
definitely know what tools and materials we need , then the second structure is to prepare tools and materials. 3. Working step
Is the most important point of the
procedure text, after the tool is ready, we will start doing something from the initial stage to completion, so the third structure is the steps 4. Closing
the last structure is closure, or the result of
what we make, and is also the conclusion that is explained from the activities that we make or arrange Linguistic characteristics 1. Using Imperative Verbs The first linguistic rule in procedural paragraphs is to use imperative verbs. What is an imperative verb? This type of verb is a type of word verb that ends in - an, and -i. For example the words: prepare, put in, avoid, pay attention to. 2. Using technical words The next Is to use technical words related to the topic raised or discussed. For example, when explaining "The Benefits of Oyster Mushrooms for for health". So the author will use technical words such as nutrition, content, protein, vegetables, osteoporosis, and others 3. Using Temporal Conjunctions Procedure text will also or very often use temporal conjunctions. Namely the type of conjunction that functions to describe a sequence or described chronologically. For example using the words: after that, then, next, then, and so on. 4. Type 1. Simple Procedure Text Simple procedure text is a text that contains only a few steps and the process is not difficult to follow and practice. 2. Complex Procedure Text Complex procedure text is a text that contains many complicated and very complex steps, 3.
