SPROCKET SIDE-STAND

RETRIEVAL SYSTEM

The present world is the world of automation. Every system is


being automated in order to reduce human effort. Automobile is
such an automation.

 It reduces human effort which is required in walking from one


place to another or travelling long distances. Although it saves the
time it does not guarantee the safety of rider if rider is careless.
SOURCE FOR ACCIDENTS

• While the two-wheelers are concerned, accidents occur due to riding the vehicle in
high speed, ignoring to use safety gears, not maintaining the speed limit and
forgetting to lift the side stand while riding the vehicles. These are the major source
for accidents.
•Forgetting to lift the side stand causes huge accidents. All the other sources of
accident have preventive measures. The accidents due to side stand do not have
proper preventive measure. If you see the accident status, most of the accidents
occur due to this.
COMPONENTS

• The components of our model are:


 Axle
 Sprocket Pinion
 Wheel Chain
 Spring
CONSTRUCTION

• A base is made with the help of mild steel rods.


• Axles are welded to the base
• Sprockets are mounted on the axles with the help of ball bearings.
• Spring is attached to the stand via a connecting rod.
PROPOSED METHOD

 Based on the power generation in two-wheeler ( i.e the power is


generated in the engine and it transmits power to the pinion and makes
it to rotate. The pinion transmits power to the rear wheel pinion and
makes the vehicle to move).

 This is the basic principle followed in all the two-wheelers. Based on


this “SPROCKET SIDE STAND RETRIVAL SYSTEM” is designed
because this system works by getting power from chain drive.
WORKING

 Sprocket side stand retrieval system retrieves the side stand automatically if the
rider forgets to lift the side stand while riding the bike.

 In every bike power transmitted from engine’s pinion to the rear wheel i.e.
rotary motion of the pinion makes the linear motion of the chain. That linear
motion of the chain is imparted to the rear wheel’s sprocket and converted into
rotary motion.

 That rotary motion of the rear wheel makes the bike to move. Based on this
Sprocket side stand retrieve system is designed.

CONCLUSION
 “ Sprocket- side stand retrieve system” will definitely be a good
retrieval system. It does not affect the performance of the vehicle
because the power is obtained from chain drive.

Definitely this system can be used in all types of two-wheelers for


retrieving the side stand automatically.

This system can be implemented in all types of bikes by doing


small variation(i.e. adding a sprocket pinion in between the chain.
The cost of this system is also very low and so it will not affect the
overall cost of the vehicle.
