Adverbs of Time
An adverb may describe or modify a verb, an adjective, or
another adverb.
Adverbs of time tell us when something happen or when
someone did something.
Read the short story. Take note of the underlined words.
Four friends waited restlessly at their station for the relay race.
Suddenly, the starting pistol boomed loudly. Immediately, Naomi
dashed soundlessly away. As Naomi ran past, George neatly
grabbed the baton from her and started his run.

The adverbs that tell how things are done are what we call
adverbs of manner.
Most adverbs of manner are formed from adjectives. Take a
