Yellow, green, red, black, and blue were selected because at least one of those five colours appears in every flag in the world. • Soccer is the most popular ball and team game TYPES OF BALL GAMES THE MOST POPULAR TEAM GAMES • The aim of soccer is to score more goal than your opponent in 90 minutes • The match is split up into two halves of 45 minutes, after the first half players will take a 15 minute rest period, called half time • Each team consists of 11 players – these are made of one goalkeeper and 10 outfield players • The equipment that is needed for a soccer match is a pitch and a soccer ball • To score a goal, the ball must go into the opponent’s goal • The field must be made of either artificial or natural grass Soccer – basic rules • The ball must have a circumference of 58-61cm and be of a circular shape • If the game needs to head to extra time as a result of both teams being level in a match then 30 minutes will be added in the form of two 15 minute halves after the allotted 90 minutes. • If teams are still level after extra time then a penalty shootout must take place • Each game must include one referee and two assistant referee’s • For fouls committed a player could receive either a yellow or red card depending on the severity of the foul; this comes down to the referee’s discretion • The yellow is a warning and a red card is a dismissal of that player Handball – basic rules • The object of handball is to score more point than your opponent • The game features 7 players on each side, six outfield players and one goalkeeper • The match consists of two 30 minutes periods • Players can touch the ball with any part of their body that is above the knee • If a player holds possession, they can dribble or take three steps for up to three seconds without dribbling • Only the goalkeeper is allowed to come into contact with the floor of the goal area FUN FACT: I USED TO PLAY HANDBALL Basketball – basic rules • The object is to throw the ball into a hoop to score points • Each team is made up of 12 players with only 5 allowed on the court at any time • There are three scoring numbers for basketball players. Any basket scored from outside the three point arc will result in three points being scored. Baskets scored within the three point arc will result in two points being scored. Successful free throws will result in 1 point being scored per free throw • Each team has 24 seconds to at least shot at the basket • basketball game consists of four quarters of 10 minutes each Volleyball/ beach volleyball • Volleyball, especially beach volleyball is a popular sport among young people • It can be played outdoors at the beach and indoors in a gym too • It’s a fun sport and it’s easy to learn, that’s why this sport is so pouplar Water polo • This is a game played with ball in the hand and it is played in the water • The aim of water polo is to score more goals than tfe opposite • The rules were created by William Wilson in the 19th century • Water polo is very popular in Hungary Thank you for your attention!
