Engagement: Can you
guess?

•1. I love to lay my eggs on dirty or clean waters. People fear me for al bring
one of the dreaded diseases, the dengue. What am I?

•2. Shallow waters of a river or pond is a good place for me to lay my eggs. I live
in water for the early stage of my life and spend most of my adult stage on
land. What am I?

•3. I am one of the most domesticated fowl. People use me and my eggs for food
or source of income. What am I?

Let’s play “Picture Frame”

Each group will portray activities of an


infant, early childhood stage, adolescent
stage, adult stage and old age stage. Have
the other groups guess what the group is
portraying.

quickly or slowly?
*What kinds of things cause babies
and little kids to grow quickly?

Activity 1: What Stage Am I?
What to do:
1.Study the data table on the Human Life Cycle
Stages. (pp. 146-147, LM)
2.Read the characteristics of each stage.
3.Using colored magazines, cut pictures that match
the characteristics of each stage. (If in case
magazines are not available, the group may draw.)
4.Paste the pictures/drawings beside the
appropriate development.
The Human Life Cycle Stages
Birth
The start of the human life cycle begins after the
baby is delivered out by its mother to the world.

Infancy
Is categorized as lasting from birth through the
first year of life. The infant is completely
dependent upon its parents or caretakers for
survival.
The Human Life Cycle Stages
Childhood
Takes place between ages 1 to 10. The first 2 years, the child
is called a toddler. During this time , the child learns how to
walk, talk and be more self-sufficient. The child is susceptible
during the time to learn habits and behaviors.

Adolescence
Takes place between ages 12 to 18 and is a critical turning
point because it is when puberty takes place.
Boys’ voice change and girls get their menstruation. As such,
they begin to separate more from the parents and became
more independent.
The Human Life Cycle Stages
Adulthood
Lasts from age 18 throughout old age. Adulthood is
when human beings are fully grown and must
provide entirely for themselves. This is also a
significant time that adults can give birth.
“Throw Back Collage”

Make a collage using your own pictures. Write


something about the pictures posted in your
collage. Use colored magazines to add more
designs to your work. Then present your
outputs to the class.

1.A child cannot eat alone. He needs the help of his
parents. What stage of development does he belong?
Infancy

Adulthood Stage. In this stage, the individual learns to
be more self supporting.

riddle – “In the morning, he moves with four feet, at midday
with two and in the afternoon, with three. Who I am?

5. If a child learns to walk directly, without passing through


crawling in his development stage, did he skip one of the
identified human development stage? Explain your answer.
No. He just developed his skills in advanced but he is still
considered a baby.
Children go through distinct
period of development as they
move from infants to young
adults. During each of these
stages multiple changes in the
development of the brain are
taking place.
What occurs and approximately
when these developments take
place are genetically determined.
However, environmental
circumstaces and exchange event.s
with key individuals within that
environment have significant
influence on how each child
benefits from each development.

described. Choose from the list of words from the box.
1.Boys and girls gain more independence from
their parents during this stage. ADULTHOOD

you both love to do before but sh said she
doesn’t like to play it anymore. Would you
feel bad? Why or why not?

Interview your adolescent brothers or


sisters. Find out what emotional
changes they are experiencing.
