HIRE HEALTHCARE
INTRODUCTION TO
HEALTCARE KNOWLEDGE
When it comes to clinical and healthcare management terminology one must be
aware of the following key learnings:
• Terminology and Language
•Taxonomies
•Clinical vocabularies
•Nomenclature
MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY AND
LANGUAGE
Medical terminology is the language used to describe the process and components
human body, procedures, disease and disorders.
MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY AND
LANGUAGE
Medical terminology is a reliable
foundation that connects the findings of
medicine and history across time and
space.
When communicating with patients the
healthcare professionals should use
simple language when communicating
with patients so they can understand
what is being communicated to them.
MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY AND
LANGUAGE
Taxonomy is the branch of science that deals with the classification or categorization
in which medical things are classified into groups.
Taxonomy recognizes and itemizes the mechanisms of biological diversity providing
basic knowledge supporting management and implementation of the Convention on
Biological Diversity.
Taxonomists are natural scientist who examine the connection among entities and
aggregate them into groups.
TAXONOMIES
▪American Society for Clinical
Laboratory Science
▪CMIT- Current Medical information
and terminology
▪UMLS- Unified Medical language
system
▪ICD-10-CM-International
Classification of Diseases-Clinical
Modification
TAXONOMIES
Taxonomy includes seven different types of procedures: description, naming,
recognition, comparison, and classification of taxa, genetic variation, identifying
specimens, and defining taxa in the environment.
Systematics is the observation to distinguish the taxonomy of organisms and their
nomenclature, classification based on their natural relatedness, and the analysis of
variation and evolution among the taxa.
CLINICAL VOCABULARIES
Expression or phrasing that specifies in a clinical or medical nature.
As different researchers have attempted to foster a practical clinical vocabulary,
apparently many have reached the resolution that what they at first need is some
understanding of the significant qualities of this vocabulary.
To be useful, a vocabulary must have adequate content.
Clinical information develops huge amounts at a time consistently. A decent clinical
vocabulary will require clear, nitty gritty depictions of what changes happen, when
and why.
NOMENCLATURE
Nomenclature, in biological grouping, system of naming living beings. The species
to which the organic entity has a place is shown by two words, the sort and species
names, which are Latinized words got from different sources.
In spite of the generally held view that logical names, once allocated, are fixed and
widespread in their utilization, proceeding with research on the connections of life
forms and testing into the historical backdrop of names, combined with conflicts
among researchers on the legitimacy of specific names, brings about various names
being applied to a few notable animal groups.
NOMENCLATURE
Drug nomenclature is a methodical way
to deal with naming the dynamic part of
a medication item for the motivations
behind recognizable proof,
normalization, and unequivocal
differential portrayal. Nonetheless, over
the course of the past hundred years,
drug and clinical information have
changed amazingly because of
imaginative logical disclosures and
modern mechanical progressions.
