    MAKING THE BED:
     
    A.    Stripping the Bed
    First the soiled bedding is to be removed
    -         pillow / pillow case
    -         upper sheet or top sheet
    -         woolen blanket
    -         middle sheet
    -         bottom sheet
    -         mattress pad
     
    B. Make Up BED
    Start with the following :
    -         Mattress pad
    -         bottom sheet
    -         middle sheet
    -         woolen blanket
    -         upper or top sheet
    -         pillow / pillow case
    -         bed cover
     
    BED MAKING (3 SHEETS)
    1. Prepare all materials and put in a chair near the
    bed.
    2. Pull the bed at least 1 foot for easy bed making.
    3. Prepare 3 sheet and identify.
    4. Crumpled the first sheet and throw to the foot
    edge.
    5. Tuck in
    6. Form triangle in both side and in the foot.
    BED MAKING (3 SHEETS)
    7. The second sheet ,wrong side down. .6-12 inch
    from the edge( do not tuck in) make it balance
    both side.
    8. Third sheet, right face down tuck in.
    9.Put pillow in the pillow case.
    10. The open edge of the pillow case is opposite
    on the door.
    11. 45 degree of the sheet, fold near in the
    telephone.
    BED MAKING (5-Sheet)
    1. Arrange bed pad on top of the Arrange center bed pad on top of the mattress.flat and smooth secure
    mattress it by tucking in the garter at the corners.
    2. Spread 1st sheet Lay it evenly on top of the bed pad with right side up. Tuck in the
    sheet under the mattress at the head and at the foot of the bed.miter
    all corners then tuck in the under sides of the sheet cover of the
    mattress.
    3. Spread 2nd sheet Spread 2nd sheet evenly with right side down .align top sheet with
    upper sheet edge of the mattress.
    4. Spread Blanket Spread blanket evenly on top of 2nd sheet . align top of the blanket 6-
    12 inch away from the edge of the mattress.
    5. Spread 3rd sheet Spread 3rd sheet evenly with right side up.align top of sheet with
    upper edge of mattress.fold top of 3rd sheet.
    6. Tuck in the 2nd sheet, blanket and Tuck in one side slightly for easy turn down. Tuck in other side
    3rd sheet tightly . mitter foot of bed envelope .shaped spread/centered bed
    cover evenly. Fold top of bed cover to allow for pillow.
    7. Spread bed cover Spread/centered bed cover evenly .fold top of bed cover to allow for
    pillow.
    8. Put pillow inside pillow case Place pillow inside pillow case and tuck in loose end. Arrange
    pillows. Fold bed cover up, covering pillows.
    9. Turn down bed (pm shift) Remove and folded bed cover .Pulled back the sheet.Place amenities
    accdg to hotel standards.
    STRIP THE BED
    1. Pull the bed away from the headboard. Pull bed at least one foot away.
    2. Remove pillowcase and check Check for personal belonging , check
    for stain made a knot at one corner.

    3. Loosen sheets at the one foot of the bed. Untuck sheets.


    4. Remove top sheet and check. Pull top sheet slowly and shake .
    check for stain and make a knot at the
    corner .Roll sheet.
    5. Remove blanket and check Pull top sheet slowly and shake .
    check for stain and make a knot at the
    corner .Roll sheet.
    6. Remove 2nd sheet and check. Pull top sheet slowly and shake .
    check for stain and make a knot at the
    corner .Roll sheet.
    7. Remove bottom sheet and check Pull bottom sheet into slowly
    8. Collect and place all soiled linens into Collect and place all soiled linens into
    the linen bag. the linen bag.
    NIGHT SERVICE
     
    Better hotels have done a variety of little
    extras to “pamper” their guest and make them
    important. One of the most widely practiced
    extras have been “ Night Service “ :
     
    1.      preparing the room for sleeping
    2.      straightening up the day’s disorder.
    3.      leaving some token of friendliness
     
    TURN DOWN PROCEDURES
    1. Remove bedspreads, fold neatly and place inside the closet.
    2. Turn down beds at 45 degree angle
    3. Puff or Fluff pillows
    4. Turn on bed lamps
    5. Empty and wash ashtrays and wastebaskets. See they are
    wiped dry and the wastebaskets has an underliner.
    6. Replenish soap, Kleenex and toilet tissue. Replace used towels.
    7.Adjust drapes and make sure thermos jug is full of ice water
    and glasses are clean.
    8. Closed doors.
