• Past simple:
• This time I picked up the phone quickly and shouted, «Hello?!».
• So that’s how you should try to tell your story. Please avoid a simple succession
of past simple tenses alone, like:
• I woke up and got out of bed. Then I went to the kitchen and made some coffee.
• It’s not wrong, but it’s just not good enough for a story. 😉
The Friends found a strange old map under the bed. Tina, Peter,
Tom and Linda were playing in Linda's bedroom when they
accidentally found that under Linda's bed was a small box and in
the box there was a map. This map was drawn by children
because there were sketchy lines and childish figures in it. “I
guess this can be a treasure map.”, shouted Peter. Therefore,
they decided to trace this map to find the treasure that the map
had shown.
Tracing/following the instructions in the map, they went to the
soccer field where they used to play when they were kids. Under
the shade of a tree there, they dug and found a box and opened
it. there were four sheets of paper inside…
