SP3D

Training
• Open Smart3D
• It displays this dialog box
• Select Plant – English Units

• Select File – Define Workspace


• Choose SP3D TRAININ from
Model tab
• Under Filter tab – Select
Create New filter
• New Filter Properties dialog
Box will Open as shown

• Provide your name under Name tab


• Select SP3DTAIN tab below & Click
Okay to close the new filter properties
tab as shown first image.
• Then click okay again on define
workspace dialog box to create your
workspace as shown on second image.
• Select Tools – Options the
Options dialog box will be shown.
• Select Units of Measure – change
ft-in(fractional) under readout on
distance as shown.

• Under General tab – Under


Number of Undo Actions you
can increase it to 20.
• Under Workspace Explorer
Select Right Click on
SP3DTRAIN - Select New
System – New structure System
– property dialog box appears.
• Under property dialog box
Select Name tab – Write
Kishore then click Okay.
• Thus Kishore is created as
shown in second image.

• Right Click Kishore - Select New


System – New structure System –
property dialog box appears.
• Under property dialog box Select
Name tab – Write Grid then click
Okay.
• Follow the same to create Column,
Beam & etc under Kishore.
• Select Tasks - Grids
• Select Highlighted Grid icon to
create grids

• Enter your name in Name dialog


box
• Provide East(X) & North(Y) to
provide the origin point of the
elevation along the respective axis.
• Provide base plate elevation level
under Up(Z) tab then click Next.
• To create planes of the elevation.
• Select copies tab include number
of floors in elevation.
• Select spacing provide the floor
height between elevations.
• Select Type - Top of Steel.
• Then select Add to create the
levels as shown and Click Next.

• To Create the Grid Plane along


the X-axis follow the same as
above
• Select Type – E-W Grid then
Click Next.
• To Create the Grid Plane along
the Y-axis follow the same as X-
axis.
• Select Type – N-S Grid then
Click Next.

• Click Finish to Create the


Grids.
• Select Fit to window icon on
tool bar to find the created
grids.

• Select Common Views icon


• On Common Views icon you
can see the sides of the created
object in our cases Grids.
