Social Issue • A social issue is a problem that influences many citizens within a society. • A social issue or problem is an issue that has been recognized by society as a problem that is preventing society from functioning at an optimal level. Examples • Poverty and Homelessness • Overpopulation • Civil Rights and Racial Discrimination • Bullying • Gender Inequality • Teenage Pregnancy Moral Issues • Moral issues are those actions which have the potential to help or harm others or ourselves. • Moral issues are those which involve the specific kind of situation where actions affect other people. Examples • Physical and mental abuses • Prostitution • Homicide, Physical injuries and murders • Corruption • Financial abuse and exploitation Economic Issues • An economic problem refers to any such problem in the economy that is concerned with the production of goods and services to satisfy the unlimited wants of the economy through the utilization of scarce resources. Examples • Overpriced products • Unemployment • Inequality, Labor issues • Covid-19 Examples: Jenna thinks her sixteen-year-old daughter Becky is pregnant. This may limit their earning O -W power in the short-term, but enable a greater earning power in the long-term.
