Basic Amenities
Select a site with access to at least seven basic amenities,
within a walking distance of 1 km from the building entrance.
List of Basic Amenities:
ATM / Bank
Clinic / Hospital
Crèche / School
Grocery store / Supermarket
Laundry / Dry cleaners
Park / Garden
Pharmacy
Post office / Courier service
Restaurant / Cafeteria /Service apartment / Hotel
Sports club / Fitness center / Gym /Theatre
Utility bill payment center (Electricity / Water)
Proximity to Public Transport
Locate the building within 800 meters walking distance
from an intra-city railway station (or) a bus-stop (or) other
modes of public transport.
Shuttle Service
The project can operate or have a contract in place for shuttle
services (from / to the nearest intra-city railway station or
bus-stop), for atleast 25% of the building occupants.
Low-emitting Vehicles
1.Electric Vehicles
Use electric vehicles within or outside the site, to cater at
least 5% of the building occupants (excluding visitors).
Also, designate preferred parking spaces for such vehicles
within the site.
Additionally, the project shall install electric charging
facilities within the projects’ parking area to cater to the
electric vehicles.
2.Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Powered Vehicles
Use Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered vehicles
within or outside the site, to cater at least 5% of the building
occupants (excluding visitors). Also, designate preferred
parking spaces for such vehicles within the site.
Additionally, the project shall have at least one CNG filling
station within 5 km distance from the projects’ campus
entrance.
Vegetation
Provide vegetation to cover at least 50% of the exposed roof
area, including covered.
Universal Design
Design the building / campus to provide the following, for
differently abled andsenior citizens in accordance with
the guidelines of the National Building Code (NBC) of
India 2005.
CFC-free Refrigerants
Demonstrate that refrigerants used in the buildings Heating,
Ventilation & Air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment are CFC
(Chloro Fluoro Carbon)-free.
Air-conditioned Buildings:
Design the building to comply with Energy Conservation
Building Code .
Lighting:
Unitary air-conditioners
Lighting systems
Renwable energy systems.

Non Air-conditioned
Provide operable windows and / or Doors to the exteriors,
in all regularly occupied areas, such that the operable area
is designed to meet the criteria.
Tobacco Smoke Control
Minimise exposure of non-smokers to the adverse health
impacts arising due to passive smoking in the building.
No Smoking
Demonstrate that smoking is prohibited in the project,
and is in accordance with the regulations of Ministry of
Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
Outdoor Smoking Areas
In case the project has assigned outdoor smoking areas,
locate such areas at a minimum of 7.6 meters from all
outdoor air intakes (entrance doors, window openings
etc.)
Designated Smoking Rooms
Alternately, compliance can be shown through
designated smoking rooms which capture and remove
tobacco smoke from the building.
