 Increasing pollution levels and rising cost of fuels like petrol and diesel have prompted us to look for alternate fuel mobility
systems.
 Electric cars are increasingly becoming popular in this time. Case in point the
MAHINDRA REVA E2O .
 First ever electric car launched in India. The E2o version
was launched in March 2013.

Challenges

• Lack of awareness about electric vehicles and their capabilities.


• Initial cost of investment is higher than conventional cars

• Limited range of the vehicles limits its appeal to people who want a multi
purpose vehicle.
• Recharge slots on the go are very inadequate unlike for conventional fuels

• Shaky government policies and lack of subsidy for electric vehicles is also a
negative factor impacting electric vehicle sales .
