    Liraglutide is an injectable GLP-1 derivative antidiabetic drug. This systematic literature review analyzed the potential effects of liraglutide in improving blood pressure in patients with diabetes mellitus and hypertension. Two studies met the selection criteria and were included in the analysis. Both studies found that liraglutide treatment for 3-6 weeks resulted in a reduction of systolic blood pressure of approximately 5-10 mmHg. The antihypertensive effects of liraglutide are thought to be related to reductions in extracellular volume, aldosterone, angiotensin II levels, and increased natriuresis through GLP-1 receptor stimulation and other mechanisms.

    Hypertension is present in 74% of diabetes patients. Many
    guidelines suggest to treat hypertension in diabetes mellitus. The Record exclude:
    patient must be given antihypertension and antidiabetic medication Title and abstracts review Not English

    drug, for the treatment of diabetes mellitus with hypertension.

    Diabetic with complication (n=2)
    Full review (n= 19)
    Overweight (n=3)
    Diabetic mellitus without hypertension (n=4)
    METHODS
    Not relevant/relevant to criteria (n=8)

    A literature search was conducted using PubMed and capturing the Studies include in the final
    data last 10 years. Terms used included MeSH headings for systematic review (n =2)

    patients being treated with liraglutide were included. We analyzed
    the effect and mechanism of liraglutide on decreasing blood

    Liraglutide is safe and effective as initial pharmacology therapy for Natriuresis

    CONCLUSION
    Treatment with liraglutide reduced systolic blood pressure of patients with diabetes mellitus. Liraglutide can be alternative choice therapy
    for diabetes mellitus with hypertension.
