Objective:
Interpret the changes that North American communities
are living by applying the grammatical rules of "Types of
verbs" and "Verb tenses.

The future tense is formed by combining the helping verb WILL
with the base form of a main verb to form a verb phrase.
We use the future tense to express actions that will happen in the
future.
To change a verb from present tense to future tense, combine the
helping verb WILL with the base form of the main verb

Example: The fans cheer at the game.


The fans will cheer at the game.

In q question, the parts of a future-tense verb phrase are often
separated by the subject.

He separates will and help.

The PRESENT PROGRESSIVE verb is formed by combining a present tense
form of the verb to be (am, is, or are) --- with the –ing form of the main verb.
THE PRESENT PROGRESSIVE TENSE EXPRESSES ACTION THAT IS ONGOING
IN THE PRESENT

Read: I tell jokes. I am telling jokes.

4) What is the verb or verb phrase in the second sentence?
5) What tense is will start?
The PAST PROGRESSIVE verb is formed by combining a past tense form of
the verb to be (was or were) --- with the present participle (the –ing form) of
the main verb.
THE PAST PROGRESSIVE TENSE EXPRESSES ACTION THAT IS ONGOING IN
THE PAST.

Ex: The wind roared all day. The


wind was roaring all day.

The FUTURE PROGRESSIVE verb is formed by combining a FUTURE tense
form of the verb to be (will be) --- with the present participle (the –ing form)
of the main verb.
THE FUTURE PROGRESSIVE TENSE EXPRESSES ACTION THAT IS ONGOING
IN THE FUTURE.
