aerodynamic noise prediction method
Establishes a theoretical method to predict the external sound-pressure level generated in a
control valve by the flow of compressible fluids. Applies to the following single-stage valves:
globe (single and double seated), butterfly, angle, rotary plug (eccentric, spherical), ball, and
valves with cage trims.

Metallic butterfly valves for general purposes
Specifies the requirements for metallic butterfly valves with centred or eccentric disc, with
centred or eccentric shaft, with metallic, polymeric, elastomeric or composite seating, with
lined or unlined body, coated or uncoated, to be used in flanged or butt-welded piping
systems for shut-off, throttling or flow control. Covers butterfly valves with nominal
diameters DN 40 to DN 2000 and is applicable to valves of nominal pressure PN 2,5 to 50.

DIN EN ISO 16136 Industrial valves -- Butterfly valves of thermoplastics materials
ISO 16136:2006 specifies requirements for the design, functional characteristics and
manufacture of butterfly valves made of thermoplastics materials intended for isolating and
control service, their connection to the pipe system, the body materials and their
pressure/temperature rating between -40 degrees Celsius and +120 degrees Celsius, for a
lifetime of 25 years, and also specifies their tests.
ISO 16136:2006 is applicable to hand- or power-operated valves to be installed in industrial
pipe systems, irrespective of the field of application and the fluids to be conveyed.
It is concerned with the range of DN 15, DN 20, DN 25, DN 32, DN 40, DN 50, DN 65, DN
80, DN 100, DN 125, DN 150, DN 200, DN 250, DN 300, DN 350, DN 400, DN 450, DN 500
and DN 600, and the range of PN 6, PN 10, PN 16 and Class 150.

1.1 This specification provides standard dimensions for manual (lever and gear actuator)
butterfly valves installed in shipboard piping systems in NPS 2 to NPS 24, inclusive.
1.2 This specification covers conventional and ANSI B16.34 class butterfly valves of both lug
and wafer types.
1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The values
given in parentheses are for information only.

This European Standard specifies the general performance requirements of isolating valves
(gate valves, globe valves, plug and ball valves and butterfly valves) used in the production,
storage, transmission (by pipeline, rail, road or sea) of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). LNG
filling valves for vehicule refuelling systems are excluded from the scope of this standard. DN
range from DN 8 to DN 1000. PN range from PN 16 to PN 100. Class range from Class 150 to
Class 900. Temperature range from - 196 C to + 60 C.

This EN deals with isolating valves used for gas distribution systems with maximum
operating pressure <= 16 bar, and which operate with fuel gases of the first and second
family, according to EN 437. It applies to valves DN 25 and larger. The types of isolating
valves to be considered are: plug and ball valves, gate valves, globe valves and butterfly
valves.

This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for valves of prefabricated
thermally insulated valve assemblies comprising a steel valve, rigid polyurethane foam
insulation and an outer casing of polyethylene for use in directly buried hot water networks
with preinsulated pipe assemblies in accordance with prEN 253. This standard applies only to
insulated valve assemblies for continuous operation with hot water at various temperatures
in accordance with clause 1 of prEN 253:2002. Guidelines for quality inspection are given in
annex A of this standard. Guidelines for installation of valves are given in annex B of this
standard. NOTE For this application the following valve types are commonly used: Ball
valves, gate valves, and butterfly valves. NOTE This standard does not include rules for
calculation of loads and stresses.

This standard covers rubber-seated butterfly valves suitable for a maximum steady-state

pressure of 250 psi (1,723 kPa), and a maximum full open velocity of 16 ft/sec (4.9 m/sec.
