TEST PROGRAM
A. PREPARATION
1) PA-5D or PA-51 (AC adaptor) is used.
2) The volume is usually moved to the use position when no volume change is required.
3) Measuring instruments : frequency counter, level meter (with JIS-C filter)
Note : Connect a stereo plug to the [PHONES/OUTPUT] jack at 33 ohms.
4) Jigs : foot switch (FC-4 or FC-5), MIDI cable, floppy disk (2HD & 2DD)
B. HOW TO ENTER THE TEST PROGRAM

While pressing the C2#, F2 and G2# keys, turn the [STANDBY/ON] switch on.

C. PROCEEDING THROUGH THE TEST PROGRAM

1) When the test program is started, “ ” appears on the LCD.
2) Select the test program item to be executed by pressing the [-/NO] or [+/YES] button.
3) Press the [START/STOP] button to execute testing.
When the test result is OK, press the [START/STOP] button to return to the test item name on display.
Proceed to the next test by pressing the [-/NO] or [+/YES] button.
When the test result is OK, a cursor (_) is added under the first character of the test item name on display.
When the test result is NG, press the [DEMO] button or the lowest (leftmost) white key on the keyboard to return
to the test item name on display and then turn off the [STANDBY/ON] switch to end the test program.
D. TEST PROGRAM LIST

TEST No. LCD (initial) Test Functions and Judgment Criteria
1 Displays ROM version.
ROM (Program, Wave) versions are displayed alternately on the LCD.
2 Checks the ROM that is connected to the CPU.
The test results appear on the LCD. Check that the LCD displays “ ”.
3 Checks all the RAMs that are connected to the CPU.
4 Checks the Wave ROMs that are connected to the CPU.
5 Checks the Wave RAMs that are connected to the CPU.
7 Checks the floppy disk drive unit.
Insert the floppy disks one bye one (2HD or 2DD).
The test will be executed immediately if an FD is inserted in the drive. After completing
the test for one FD, replace it with another to continue the test.
Check that the LCD displays “ ” if 2HD FD is inserted.
Check that the LCD displays “ ” if 2DD FD is inserted.
Displays “ ” and stands by for FD insertion if an FD is drawn out before
completion of the test.
Displays “ ” if the write-protect switch of FD is on.
Displays “ ” if non-formatted FD is inserted.
11 Outputs the sine wave by changing the channels in sequence from C2 to G4.
Check the sound by hearing that there is not noise or abnormal sound.
After auto-scaling is finished, individual keys can be played. (If playing two or more
keys simultaneously, the first pressed key has priority to make a sound.)

13 Connect the frequency counter to the [PHONES/OUTPUT] jack. (L or R)
Sets PAN to Center and produces a signal at 440.0 Hz ± 1.76 Hz
Check that the correct signal is produced.
14 Connect the level meter (with a JIS-C filter) to the [PHONES/OUTPUT] jack. (33 ohm load)
Set the [MASTER VOLUME] at maximum and check the output level (1 kHz sine wave, PAN=R).
PHONES L : less than -45.0 dBm PHONES R : -5.0 dBm ± 2 dB
Set the [MASTER VOLUME] at maximum and check the output level (1 kHz sine wave, PAN=L).
PHONES L : -5.0 dBm ± 2 dB PHONES R : less than -45.0 dBm
Set the [MASTER VOLUME] at maximum. Check D/A converter noise.
PHONES L/R : Less than -75.0 dBm
20 Check the switches on the panel.
Press the switches on the LCD as instructed. A pre-assigned note is output when the
switch is pressed. (See 34 page table 1.) As the check result appears on the LCD when
all the switches are pressed as instructed. Check that “ ” is displayed.
(To stop this check before reaching its end, press the [DEMO] button or the lowest
(leftmost) white key on the keyboard to return to the test item name on display.)
21 Check that the all LEDs on the panel are on.
28 Check that all LCD dots are on.
29 Check that all LCD dots are off.
31 Connect the foot switch (FC-4 or FC-5) to the [FOOT SWITCH] jack.
Check that the C3 note is output when the [START/STOP] button is pressed while
stepping the pedal and the C4 note is output when releasing the pedal. The sound stops
when stepping the pedal again. Check that the LCD displays “ ”.
33 Checks the pitch bend wheel.
Check that the C3 note is output when rotating the [PITCH BEND]wheel to minimum
and the C4 note is output when rotating it to maximum.
37 Check the MIDI IN/OUT.
After connecting the [MIDI IN] jack and [MIDI OUT] jack with a MIDI cable, execute the test.
Check that the C4 note is output and that the test results appear on the LCD.
40 Check the battery.
Removing the AC adapter sets to the Battery Check mode. (In advance, install the batteries.)
The A/D value of the battery is detected and displayed with hexadecimal number on the LCD.
41 Checks the ROMs that are connected to the CPU.
It takes about 5 seconds.
42 Checks the RAMs that are connected to the CPU.
43 Checks the Wave ROM.
44 Checks the Wave RAM.
46 Performs the RAM back-up check.
Check that the display reads “NG,” then turn off the power switch. (A time of the
beginnings surely becoms NG.)
Enter the test program and perform the RAM back-up checks, then check again.
(Do not turn on the power switch by normal made, as the test result surely becomes NG.)
Check that the LCD displays “ ”.
47 All the RAMs are initialized and set to the factory preset data when executing this test.
Check that the LCD displays “ ”.
48 Exit from the test program after executing this test.
* NOTE : Time is required to complete the checks performed by test No. 43-46.
If the time is not available to perform the tests, proceed the test No.47 by pressing several the [+/YES] button. 31

C. テストの進め方

結果がNGの場合は、[デモ]ボタンまたは鍵盤の最低音（一番左端の白鍵）を押してテスト項目表示に戻します。
[電源]スイッチをOFFにして、テストプログラムを終了します。

7 フロッピーディスクドライブをチェックします。
2HDと2DDのフロッピーディスクを、1枚ずつFDDに挿入して行います。
ディスクが挿入されている状態ならば、直ちにテストが行われます。途中、2DDと2HD
を入れ替えて、両タイプのディスクのテストを行います。
2HDの場合“ ”、2DDの場合“ ”が表示されることを確認します。
テスト中にディスクを引き抜くと、“ ”が表示されてディスク挿入待ちの状態になります。
ライトプロテクトされたディスクを挿入した場合、“ ”と表示されます。この
状態ではテストには使用できません。
未フォーマットのディスクを挿入した場合、“ ”と表示されます。テストには
使用できません。
11 音源1チェック(オートスケール)。C2からG4までを正弦波で発音します。
異音、ノイズがないことを確認します。
オートスケーリングが終了すると、鍵盤を弾くことで発音します。(単音、先着優先)

の結果が表示されます。“ ”が表示されることを確認します。
（途中で中止する場合は、[デモ]ボタンまたは鍵盤の最低音（一番左端の白鍵）を押
してテスト項目表示に戻します。）
21 パネル全LED点灯チェック。パネルの全てのLEDが点灯することを確認します。
28 LCD全点灯チェック。LCDの全てのドッドが点灯することを確認します。
29 LCD全消灯チェック。LCDの全てのドッドが消灯することを確認します。
31 [FOOT SWITCH]端子にフットスイッチ(FC-4またはFC-5)を接続します。
ペダルチェック。テストに入り、ペダルを踏みながら[スタート／ストップ]ボタンを
押すとC3を発音し、ペダルを離すとC4を発音します。再びペダルを踏むと音は消えま
す。LCDに“ ”が表示されることを確認します。
33 ピッチベンドホイールチェック。
[PITCH BEND]ホイールを手前に回して最小にするとC3を発音し、奥に回して最大に
するとC4を発音します。LCDに“ ”が表示されることを確認します。
37 MIDI IN/OUTチェック。
[MIDI IN]端子と[MIDI OUT]端子をMIDIケーブルで接続して、テストを実行します。
C4を発音し、LCDに“ ”が表示されることを確認します。
40 バッテリーチェック。
電源アダプターを外して、このモードに入ります。（あらかじめ、電池を挿入してお
きます。）バッテリーのA/D値を検出して、LCDにA/D値が16進数で表示されます。
41 ROM全アドレスチェック。CPUのバスに接続されている全てのROMをチェックします。
チェックに約5秒かかります。
42 RAM全アドレスチェック。CPUのバスに接続されている全てのRAMをチェックします。
43 Wave ROM全アドレスチェック。
44 Wave RAM全アドレスチェック。
46 RAMのバックアップチェック。
1度目は必ずNGになります。電源を切り、再びテストプログラムを起動し、RAMのバ
ックアップチェック(テストNo.46)を実行します。（放置している間に通常立ち上げを
しないで下さい。結果が必ずNGになります。）
“ ”が表示されることを確認します。
47 テストを実行すると、全てのRAMを初期化して工場出荷データにセットします。
LCDに“ ”が表示されることを確認します。
48 実行すると、テストプログラムから抜けて、プレイモードになります。
※ テストNo.43∼46については、時間がかかりますので、時間がない場合は[+/YES]ボタンを数回押して、テストNo.47
