budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis. Perform root cause analysis and provide leadership on
division-wide initiatives and projects, including financial modeling. Ensure strong relationships with
director levels of businesses supported. Manage $2B budget.

• Created offering level P&L that provided direction for profitability. Standard financial P&L
statements did not provide the level of granularity needed to manage division. Designed P&L that
gave better understanding of what drives profitability and how to best align resources, focusing on
limited marketing dollars.

• Improved forecast accuracy 20% and increased quota. Forecasting was inaccurate in two
segments of the business. Collaborated with sales compensation executive to create and
implement plan that increased quotas when unexpected / unplanned revenue was attained.
Incentive to underestimate revenue was removed and extra sales compensation was reduced
due to the quota increases.
• Established process to recognize forecast / budget risks, providing more time for
corrective action. Division needed way of determining if month to date performance was
sufficient to meet objectives. Created historical trending model that showed very consistent
weekly revenue attainment over several years. From the trending model, developed and
implemented standardized reports that showed where target revenue attainment was at risk.

Developed metrics across IBM Americas. Oversaw reporting staff, marketing & sales and financial

those needing reports earlier access.

University. Many students were deferring tuition payments. Established program to collect
