STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Personal Information:
My name is Muhammad Waqas s/o Khalid Mehmood Chuhan. My residential address is
House no.P-954, street no.25, Tariqabad, Faisalabad, Pakistan. I started my educational
career from The City grammar school Faisalabad. It is a well reputed institute within
Pakistan. I have completed my Matriculation in 2014 and scored 653/1100 marks with
59.3%. At my high school I was engaged in various extra-curricular activities including sports
and competitions like English essay writing. Later on I completed my diploma in Associate
Engineering in Electrical. I did it as a regular student and I got 2741 /3550 with 77% in 2017.
I sustained a persistently and productive academic record throughout my school life that
boast my suitability for further studies. I continued my further studies for honing my English
skills. I got 6 each bands in IELTS. In each module result is as follow: Listening (7.5)
Reading (5.5) Speaking (5.5), Writing (6.0)
Why I want to study in UK

One of the biggest tasks for me was the selection of the country. I had three countries in my
mind was UK, Australia and Canada. I searched all about these countries and found various
pros and cons about them. Major prejudice about Canada was its severe weather
conditions, having a harsh cold weather. As I am a native of Pakistan and it is very tough for
people like us to survive in such weather. Germany after that holds a language barrier which
doesn’t allows the students to gain better communication skills; furthermore, students are
unable to expand their knowledge and extract ideas for their culture.UK is the best choice for
me for most of its striking features. It is a dominating education powerhouse with some of the
world’s best facilities and educators. UK is the most popular international student
destination. Given this impressive education pedigree, it’s not surprising there are now more
than millions former international students who have gone on to make a difference after
studying in UK. It seeks attention of huge amount of international students due to its
affordability as compared to Australia and Canada.
Why University of Bedfordshire:

To make up mind for an institution was a hard assignment as all of its universities are well-
ranked. I visited several websites of universities like University of Manchester, University of
Sheffield and University of Westminster. I choose the University of Bedfordshire for the world
class facilities and wide range of courses. The university’s location in the cosmopolitan town
and its closeness to the London was also a great motivation. The University of Bedfordshire
is the largest higher education institution in the county providing opportunity for more people
to access top quality higher education. The University of Bedfordshire is committed to
contributing to the development of civic and public life through involving students, staff and
external audiences in volunteering programs. There are many other reasons that why I
choose this institution.
 Excellent learning resources in Bedford campus especially libraries open 24/7.
 Many highly-qualified academic staff has received National Teaching Fellowship
Awards.
 Courses are designed to integrate the latest theoretical developments in chosen
subject area. Current professional, industry or commercial practices are included in
teaching to ensure that have the knowledge and skills sought by employers or for
further study.
 University has student internship scheme design to develop the skills and to gain real
world experience.
Why I have chosen this course:
I have chosen Electronics Engineering BEng(Hons) for undergraduate degree from
University of Bedfordshire. This will offer a broad understanding of the concepts and
practices of electronics technology. The course focuses on preparing students for a career in
the electronics industry. The critical, theoretical, analytical and practical skills of this degree
will prepare me for a range of careers. The most common destination will be in industries
dealing with electronics system design, such as electronics engineer or design engineer. as
well as work for companies that provide solutions for electronics system design, such as in
communication system, measurement equipment, audio and video system and radar
system. The theoretical foundations taught in the course will enable me to continue my
studies and register on taught or research based Masters courses in Electronics
Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering and Computer System Engineering. There
are also many other reasons for choosing this course:
 Learn skills in a number of areas, including analogue and digital electronics, signal
processing, sensors, digital communications, software engineering and embedded
programming
 Study using a combination of top-tier learning materials and hands-on practical experience
 Develop my knowledge and understanding of the commercial and economic contexts of
engineering processes, and keep informed of emerging processes and technologies
 Gain a thorough awareness of the possible equality and diversity issues that exist in
electronic engineering
 Explore the practical application of the computer software and hardware toolkits commonly
used by electronic engineers
 Challenge myself by analyzing and solving real-world engineering problems
Future plans/prospectus:
My first intention after completion of my study is to come to my homeland Pakistan back,
because I am keen to start my own business. Due to lack of advance knowledge and only
having a common experience my homeland is not gaining much advancement, as much this
field can. With the aid of my degree I am pretty optimistic to give much of my global
experience and knowledge electronics field. I would try to make innovation within this field to
make it more profitable and cheap for common man. Hopefully If I got a chance to study in
United Kingdom I will be capable to go through my interests and accomplish my dreams.
That is why my father is also highly motivated to provide me quality education.
