Portfolio Artifact F: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & ACTION PLAN

2018-
● Obtain a position at a four-year public institution within my desired functional areas that will

challenge and allow me to develop my skills in advising and programing.
● Utilize theory, research, and assessment to inform decisions and recommendations of best practices
● Looking at new research on APIDA communities to bring back information to my campus community
to support those students on campus.
● Gain experience in direct supervision of both students and full-time staff.
NASPA/ACPA Competency: Personal and Ethical Foundations (∆)
 Obtain a position in California or within the greater Seattle area
 Practice healthy mind and body: Gym, counseling, and utilizing vacation time

● Find ways to be a part of the student conduct review board at the institution
● Stay up-to-date with societal impacts that affect students and educate myself through professional
development.
2019-  Utilize theory, research, and assessment to inform decisions and recommendations for improvement in
areas of oversight
2020  Apply for leadership/regional leadership positions within affinity student affairs groups (i.e. NASPA
APIKC)
 Seek opportunities’ to develop stronger public speaking and workshop facilitation skills

● Gain experience in higher-ed financing and budget management

2020- ● Connect with SDA Faculty to develop skills in mentorship for continuing students during capstone,
internship, job search, and/or class visits
2021
● Sign-up to be a NASPA API-KC Mentor
● Conduct assessment, evaluation, and research in future studies of program or student group.

standards expectations of the community.

2021- ● Present a proposal to present at local or national conference (i.e. NASPA, APAHE, or NODA) around
APIDA student and staff
2022 ● Consider/apply for mid-level positions (Assistant/Associate Director)
● Cultivate meaningful relationships across campus and establish allies to work towards advancing
diversity, equity and inclusion across campus.
● Seek professional opportunities to develop skills in crisis management and prevention
