1a) In this cartoon, Calvin Coolidge, who is the saxophone player is pleasing big

businesses who is the dancer. This is because of Calvin Coolidges policies helped

big businesses in the United States. Therefore, the main point of this cartoon is to

show that Calvin Coolidge pleased big business with the ways that he did things in

office.

1b) Calvin Coolidge had multiple policies that please big business, but one of his

main ones was, the tariff on outside products that were coming into America. This

tariff was created by Coolidge to help big businesses in the united states create a

profit on their goods. This also helps to have more in countries production without

relying on foreign goods. This made big business very happy.

1c) An impact of this policy that was used was that it helped make in country

business very wealthy and made they into a power house of the world. This is

shown in the cartoon by the business dancing and being very happy.
