Chapter 4

PRESENTATION, INTERPRETATION AND ANALYSIS OF DATA


In this chapter, the data gathered from the primary instrument of the study were
summarized and tabulated. The interpretation of the results from the conducted survey
is also presented.
Statement of the Problem No. 1: What are the profiles the respondents as regard to
their age, gender and income?

Table 1 shows the frequency and percentage distribution of the respondents


according to their age. Out of the 330 total sample population, 118 are ages from 19-33 (36%),
136 are ages 34-48 (41%) and 76 are ages from 48-61 (23%).

Table 2 shows the frequency and percentage distribution of the respondents


according to their gender. Out of the 330 total sample population, 149 are male (45%)
and 181 are female (55%).

Table 3 shows the frequency and percentage distribution of the respondents


according to their income. Out of the 330 total sample population, 155 earn below

10,000.00 per month (47%), 127 earn Php10, 001-21,000.00 per month (36%) and 33
earn Php21, 001 per month and above (10%).

Table 4 shows the frequency and percentage distribution of the respondents


according to their learning of the issue regarding the New Bilibid Prison. Out of the 330
total sample population, 109 learn the issues on the newspaper (33%), 113 learn on the
broadcast (tv/radio) (34%), 46 learn on the internet sites (14%) and 62 on the words of
mouth (peers/family) (19%).
Statement of the Problem No. 3: Rate your awareness concerning the management of
the New Bilibid Prison regarding the efficiency of prison guards and administrators and
the strength of security and protection of the institution of the New Bilibid Prison.

Table 5 shows the frequency and percentage distribution of the awareness of the
respondents, classified according to age, according to their awareness concerning the
management of the New Bilibid Prison regarding the efficiency of prison guards and
administrators and the strength of security and protection of the institution of the New
Bilibid Prison. Out of the 330 total sample population, 101 people are Extremely Aware,
83 people are Moderately Aware, 51 people are Aware, 55 people are Somewhat Aware
and 40 people are Not Aware about the issue.

Moderately Aware, 74 are Aware, 61 are Somewhat aware, and 32 are Not aware about
the issue.

issue.
