Airtel:
1. definitions
1.1 "airtel m commerce services limited" or "amsl" is a company incorporated under the companies act, 1956 with its
registered office at bharti crescent, 1, nelson mandela road, vasant kunj, phase ii, new delhi - 110070, india and
principal office at airtel center, plot no 16, udyog vihar, phase-iv, gurgaon-122015.
1.2 airtel money services or services refers to stored value card wallet services offered by amsl under the
certificate of authorization issued by reserve bank of india (rbi). under the services, amsl issues the airtel money
account. airtel money services are governed by: (a) the payment and settlement systems act, 2007 & regulations
made there under, (b) issuance and operation of pre-paid payment instruments in india (reserve bank) directions,
2009 ("rbi guidelines") and (c) instructions issued by the rbi from time to time in respect of the same.
1.3 "customer" shall means an individual person above the age of 18 years who has registered with amsl for availing
the airtel money services and who has accepted these terms and conditions and owns a compatible mobile phone
that supports the airtel money services.
1.4 "airtel money account" shall mean the pre-paid payment instrument issued by amsl including express account
and power account.
1.5 "charge(s)" or "service charge" shall mean the charges which amsl may levy upon the customer in consideration
for enrolling for the airtel money services.
1.6 "card-to-card transfer" refers to a facility provided by amsl whereby an airtel money account can transfer funds
from an airtel money account to any other airtel money account issued by amsl.
1.7 card-to-bank transfer refers to a facility provided by amsl whereby an airtel money account can transfer funds
(g) if amsl believes, in its reasonable opinion, that cessation/ suspension is necessary.
4.13 amsl may as per its discretion introduce appropriate controls including but not limited to revised airtel money
account limits. amsl may further request the customer / beneficiaries of the airtel money services to submit additional
kyc documents as part of ongoing monitoring and customer due diligence.
4.14 the value stored in the airtel money account shall not be refunded under any circumstances. the customer must
utilize the value stored in the airtel money account to make payments for bona-fide transactions.
4.15 the customer is permitted to maintain and operate only one airtel money account. any suspected non-conformity
with this requirement shall be just cause for the suspension/ discontinuation of any/all airtel money accounts
associated with the customer by amsl.
4.16 in case the customer applies for an airtel money axis bank super account on the same mobile phone connection,
the customer hereby unconditionally authorize amsl to close the existing airtel money account and transfer the
outstanding balance (if any) to the newly created airtel money axis bank super account.
5. billing and payment
5.1 the customer shall pay the service charges prescribed by amsl in the form and manner prescribed for such
payment. amsl may at its discretion, change, amend, increase, modify or reduce the service charges from time to
time without prior intimation to the customer. for schedule of services charges please refer company website
(www.airtel.in/money) or call the airtel money customer care center.
5.2 any value in the airtel money account that is utilized towards making payments for any transaction shall be
automatically debited from the airtel money account. amsl's responsibility is limited to the debiting of the airtel money
account and subsequent payment to any merchant establishment including financial services or transfer to the bank.
amsl does not endorse, promote, champion or warrant any goods and/or services that might be bought/availed or
proposed to be bought/availed using the airtel money services.
5.3 amsl reserves the right to recover funds for transactions processed from the balance in the customers airtel
money account.
6. customer obligations
6.1 airtel money services availability is subject to the maintenance of an active mobile phone connection with bharti
airtel limited and a mobile phone handset supporting ussd and other application on which airtel money services run.
the customer is solely responsible for all liability arising from the unavailability of the airtel money services due to nonmaintenance of an active mobile phone connection with bharti airtel limited or a mobile handset not supporting any
airtel money access channel or application.
6.2 the customer must ensure the availability of sufficient funds before executing any transaction from the airtel
money account.
6.3 the customer shall be solely responsible for the confidentiality, safety and security of the m-pin. the customer shall
be the sole owner of the m-pin and shall be responsible for the consequences arising out of disclosure of the m-pin
and/or the unauthorized use of airtel money service. in case the m-pin is lost or misplaced, the customer shall
promptly inform amsl by calling at the customer care numbers where after the m-pin will be barred and a new m-pin
will be issued to the customer after necessary validation. in case the mobile phone/ sim card associated with the airtel
money services is lost/stolen/misplaced/ no longer in the customers control or possession or operational, the
customer shall promptly inform amsl.
6.4 the customer shall only use the airtel money services for transactions with the approved merchant establishment
including financial services and banks. the list of merchant establishments including financial services and banks is
available at www.airtel.in/money and is subject to change at amsl's discretion without prior intimation.
6.5 the customer shall intimate amsl about change in any information, including but not limited to change in address
etc. within one week along with such proof of change as per the kyc documents and further provide any information
and document that amsl may request from time to time.
6.6 the customer shall not use airtel money services for any purpose that might be construed as contrary or
repugnant to any applicable law, regulation, guideline, judicial dicta, amsl policy or public policy or for any purpose
acceptance of the same. you are therefore requested to read and understand the same prior to enrolling for the airtel
money axis bank super account. if you do not want to be bound by the below-mentioned super account- terms and
conditions, or any part thereof, you may contact us at 121@airtelmoney.in, before enrolling for the airtel money axis
bank super account
1. definitions
1.1 "airtel m commerce services limited" or "amsl" is a company incorporated under the companies act, 1956 with its

1.2 "axis bank limited" or "axis bank" is a company incorporated under the companies act, 1956 with its registered
office at trishul, 3rd floor, opposite samartheshwar temple, near law garden, ellisbridge, ahmedabad, gujarat-380006.
1.2 airtel money axis bank super account or super account refers to the axis bank savings account that is sourced
and serviced by amsl acting as a business correspondent of axis bank. airtel money axis bank super account are
governed by:
(a) financial inclusion by extension of banking services - use of business facilitators and correspondents ("rbi
guidelines") and
(b) instructions issued by the rbi from time to time in respect of the same.
1.3 "customer" means a person who has registered with amsl for availing the airtel money axis bank super account
and who has accepted these super account terms and conditions and owns a compatible mobile phone that supports
the airtel money axis bank super account.
1.4 fees/charges mean the charges which axis bank/amsl may levy upon the customer in consideration for
subscribing to the super account.
1.5 "transfer" refers to a facility to transfer funds from a super account to any other airtel money account issued by
amsl or to any savings or current bank account.
1.6 "merchant establishment" shall mean and include physical merchants, remote merchants, electronic commerce
merchants, mobile commerce merchants and/or any other merchants who have been authorized by axis bank/amsl to
accept payment using the super account.
1.7 "ussd" means unstructured supplementary services data and refers to a method of accessing and using the super
account, i.e. by dialing a specified short code from the registered airtel money mobile number
1.8 "enrollment form" shall mean the super account enrollment form, as is required by axis bank/amsl from the
customer at the time of registration for availing and/or continuation of the super account.
1.9 "kyc" stands for know your customer and refers to the various norms, rules, laws and statutes issued by rbi from
time to time under which axis bank/amsl is required to procure personal identification details from you before any
services can be delivered. know your customer (kyc) documents may be required by axis bank/amsl from the
customer at the time of registration and/ or on a later date, for availing and / or continuation of the super account.
1.10 "m-pin" means the secret numeric password used to secure airtel money applications, without knowledge of
which the super account may not be operable.
1.11 "transaction" means purchase of goods or services at merchant establishments or cash-in or cash out or
transfers
2. amsl and axis bank relationship
2.1 axis bank has engaged amsl who shall act as business correspondent (business correspondent) and carry out
the activities in accordance with the instructions of axis bank.
3. documentation
3.1 to apply for the super account, the customer need to submit the enrolment form and the requisite documentation,
as required by the axis bank, to the nominated outlet of the business correspondent. the customer would be
responsible for carrying both the original and the photocopy of the kyc documents. the kyc documents thus submitted
would be verified with the original. collection of the enrolment form and the kyc documentation would be the
responsibility of the business correspondent and axis bank would not have any responsibility in this regard.
customers to also note that the enrolment form thus filled and the documents submitted alongside belongs to the axis
bank and would not be returned to the customer, under any circumstance.
3.2 the super account shall be opened only after axis bank has completed the kyc verification. time for opening of
super account may vary from time to time post submission of all the documents, which were due for submission.
3.3 axis bank/amsl shall be entitled at its sole discretion to accept or reject such applications as may be submitted by
customer for availing super account through the business correspondent.
3.4 the collection, verification, audit and maintenance of correct and updated customer information is a continuous
process and axis bank/amsl reserves the right, at any time, to take steps necessary to ensure compliance with all
relevant and applicable kyc requirements. axis bank/amsl reserves the right to discontinue services/ reject
applications for super account at any time if there are discrepancies in information and/or documentation provided by
you.
3.5 any information provided to axis bank/amsl with the intention of securing super account shall vest with axis bank
and may be used by axis bank, for any purpose consistent with any applicable law or regulation, at its discretion.
3.6 if the particulars provided by the customer in the kyc documents do not match with details mentioned in the
enrollment form, then axis bank has the right to close the account and forfeit the balance therein.
3.7 initial deposit into the super account does not mean that axis bank/amsl has opened the super account. the super
account opening cannot be deemed to come into existence until the applicant/customer has received a
communication from axis bank/amsl that the super account is opened. select transactions, at sole discretion of axis
bank, may be allowed before the super account is opened in the banks core banking system. the customers super
account statement will only reflect those transactions that has happened post account opening. please note,
allowance of such transactions does not necessarily mean that the super account has been or will be opened.
3.8 for any change of address, the customer is required to inform axis bank and amsl with the address proof.
4. general condition of super account
4.1 the super account is a saving bank account which can only be opened for an individual in single name and can be
operated by an individual only.
4.2 the super account is a small account with the following restrictions:
(i) the aggregate of all credits in super account in a financial year shall not exceed rupees one lakh;
(ii) the aggregate of all withdrawals and transfers from super account in a month shall not exceed rupees ten
thousand; and
(iii) the balance in super account at any point of time shall not exceed rupees fifty thousand.
4.3 by applying for the super account, the customer is aware and hereby gives his consent that; in the event, total
balance in the account exceeds rupees fifty thousand and/or the total credits in the account exceed rupees one lakh
in a financial year and/or the aggregate of all withdrawals and transfers in a month exceed rupees ten thousand,
there would be a total freeze in the super account and no transaction would be permitted until relevant identity and
address proof of the customer, as per axis banks rules, are provided.
4.4 by applying for the super account, the customer hereby acknowledges that the basic purpose of opening super
account through business correspondent under financial inclusion plan is to ensure provision of basic banking
facilities to the unbanked and under banked population. the said super account is basically aimed for those who do
not have any other bank account.
4.5 by applying for the super account, the customer confirms that any fees/charges levied by the axis bank as a result
of failed transactions because of such freeze in customers accounts would have to be borne by the customer only.
4.6 by applying for the super account, the customer hereby gives the permission to the axis bank/amsl to contact him
through phone/ sms/ e-mail or otherwise for any purpose including account opening/ transaction updates/
promotional offers etc. if the customer does not want any such communication, he has an option to stop such
communication by contacting the nearest axis bank branch or amsl helpline.
4.7 the super account is available only to resident indians who have attained the age of 18 years and are competent
to contract.
4.8 the super account is not transferable.
4.9 axis bank/amsl may as per its discretion introduce appropriate controls including but not limited to revised account
limits. axis bank/amsl may further request the customers/beneficiaries of the super account to submit additional kyc
documents as part of ongoing monitoring and customer due diligence.
4.10 any value in your super account that is utilized towards making payments for any transaction shall be
automatically debited from your super account. axis bank/amsl's responsibility is limited to the debiting of your super
account and the subsequent payment to any merchant establishment that you might transact with. axis bank/amsl
does not endorse, promote, champion or warrant any goods and/or services that might be bought/availed or
proposed to be bought/availed using the super account.
4.11 the mobile number provided in the enrolment form should belong to the applicant/customer of the super account.
in case of any change in mobile number, the same has to be informed to amsl helpline number 121 with immediate
effect duly supported with documentary proof. till such time documentary proof is submitted, axis bank reserves right
to restrict operation in the super account.
4.12 facilities like cheque book and debit card/atm card is currently not a part of the super account.
4.13 in case the mobile number, which has been provided for opening of the super account is changed or mobile is
lost or stolen, the customer will intimate the amsl call centre at the number 121 at the earliest. axis bank/amsl has the
right to restrict transaction on such super account in case the mobile number changes or mobile is lost as intimated
by the customer. axis bank/ amsl cannot be held liable for any transactions occurred prior to intimation to the call
center about change in mobile number or loss of mobile.
4.14 the mode of operation for the super account shall be only through the mobile number and the customer can
carry out cash deposit and cash withdrawal transaction through the designated airtel money axis bank customer
service points. no other channels like bank branch, atm and internet banking shall be available for cash deposit
and/or withdrawal.
4.15 if there are no transactions in the super account for a period of two (2) years, the super account shall be treated
as an inoperative account. the customer should thus transact on the super account periodically, so that it does not
become inoperative. in case there are no customer induced debit, credit and/or third party transactions in the
account, it may be classified as inoperative. the service charges levied by the axis bank/amsl and/or interest credited
by axis bank would not be considered as customer induced transactions.
4.16 axis bank reserves the right to close the super account in case of either of the following:
(i) in the event of the super account balance being zero for more than 6 months since the date of account opening or
(ii) if the balance in the super account has become zero and remains so for 12 months.
however, before taking steps for closing the account, axis bank/amsl shall give appropriate notice and account
holders/customers are entitled to give their reply and rectify. the said notice may be through any form of
communication including letter/ sms/ phone call/ email or any other mode as the bank may deem proper.
4.17 in addition to above, axis bank/amsl reserves the right to suspend/discontinue any super account at any time, for
any cause, including, but not limited, to the following(a) for any suspected violation of the rules, regulations, orders, directions, notifications issued by rbi from time to time
or for any violation of the terms and conditions mentioned in herein;
(b) for any suspected discrepancy in the particular(s), documentation or enrollment form provided by the customer;
(c) to combat potential fraud, sabotage, willful destruction, threat to national security or for any other force majeure
reasons etc;
(d) if the same is due to technical failure, modification, upgradation, variation, relocation, repair, and/or maintenance
due to any emergency or for any technical reasons.
(e) if the same is due to any transmission deficiencies caused by topographical and geographical
constraints/limitations;
(f) if the mobile connection with which your super account is related ceases to be operational or in your possession or
control.
(g) if axis bank/amsl believes, in its reasonable opinion, that cessation/ suspension is necessary.
4.18 axis bank/amsl shall not be liable to the customer for any loss or damage suffered by him resulting in any way
from such suspension or termination.
4.19 the customer after doing a transaction at the airtel money axis bank customer service point, shall receive an sms
confirming the transaction.
4.20 if the transaction fails or cannot be completed due to network issues of the telecom operator, which is not within
control of axis bank/amsl, the customer shall not hold axis bank/amsl responsible for the same.
4.21 the information provided in the enrollment form will be shared with axis banks affiliates or subsidiaries, amsl or
any other agents or contractors for the purpose of processing the forms to facilitate account opening and the
customer shall not have any objection to the same.
4.22 the terms and conditions herein shall be subject to the notifications/ guidelines issued by rbi/ trai or any other
regulator, from time to time.
4.23 axis bank may at its absolute discretion, make available to the customer more services through the business
correspondent. axis bank shall also, in its sole discretion, at any time, without notice to the customer, be entitled to
withdraw, discontinue, cancel, modify, suspend/or terminate the super account provided through the business
correspondent/amsl and axis bank shall not be liable to the customer for any loss or damage suffered by him
resulting in any way from such suspension or termination.
4.24 the customer may refer to axis bank website for detail terms and conditions of other products offered by axis
bank.
5. payment and charges
5.1 interest rate on super account is regulated by rbi and is subject to change from time to time as per rbi guidelines.
the present interest rate on super account is at 4 % per annum. the interest amount will be credited into the super
account every quarter.
5.2 axis bank/amsl reserves the right to levy charges/ charge commission upon any amounts loaded in the super
account or any amounts spent/utilized by the customer using the super account. please note, the charge structure is
liable to change from time to time. for schedule of charge(s) please refer axis bank/amsl website or call amsl
customer care center.
5.3 axis bank/amsl reserves the right to set off any balance in the super account in order to recover funds for
transactions processed as per the customers request.
5.4
in the event of occurrence of transactions that may be construed as dubious or undesirable, axis bank
reserves the right to unilaterally freeze operations in such accounts and/or close the accounts including reporting to
regulator / police authorities / statutory authorities, etc.
5.5 by signing on the enrolment form the customer hereby unconditionally agrees that the charges for opening this
super account and other transaction charges have been communicated to the customer and the customer agrees
with the same.
5.6 the customer hereby authorizes axis bank to charge the customer with any sum of money that is payable by the
customer, if any, in connection with super account provided by axis bank through the business correspondent,
including .
6. customer obligations
6.1 in no circumstances, should the customer share 4 digit mobile pin number with anyone, including any bank official
or with the customer service point representative. the customer shall be solely responsible for the confidentiality,
safety and security of the m-pin. the customer shall be the sole owner of the m- pin and shall be responsible for the
consequences arising out of disclosure of the m-pin and/or the unauthorized use of the super account. in case the mpin is lost or misplaced, the customer shall promptly inform amsl by calling at the customer care numbers where after
the m-pin will be barred and a new m-pin will be issued to you after necessary validation. in case the mobile phone/
sim card associated with your the super account is lost/stolen/misplaced/ no longer in your control, the customer shall
promptly inform amsl.
6.2 the super account availability is subject to the maintenance of an active mobile phone connection with bharti airtel
limited and a mobile phone handset supporting ussd and other application on which the super account can operate
and the customer is solely responsible for all liability arising from the unavailability of super account due to a mobile
handset not supporting any airtel money channel or application.
6.3 the customer must ensure the availability of sufficient funds before executing any transaction from the super
account.
6.4 the customer shall only use the super account for all transactions with the specific merchant establishment for the
products/services available therein. the list of merchant establishments is available at www.airtel.in/money and is
subject to change at amsl's discretion without prior intimation.
6.5 the customer shall intimate axis bank and amsl about change in any information, including but not limited to
change in address etc. within one week along with such proof of change as per the kyc documents and further
provide any information and document that axis bank/amsl may request from time to time.
6.6 the customer shall not use the super account for any purpose that might be construed as contrary or repugnant to
any applicable law, regulation, guideline, judicial dicta, axis bank/amsl policy or public policy or for any purpose that
might negatively prejudice the goodwill of axis bank/amsl.
6.7 the customer acknowledge and understand that the super account is linked to the mobile phone number and the
customer shall be solely responsible for any liability arising out of the loss/ theft/misuse of the mobile phone number
or deactivation of mobile connection by bharti airtel limited.
6.8 information submitted by the customer for availing the mobile connection of bharti airtel limited or information
submitted by the customer while using the mobile connection of bharti airtel limited, can be requested from bharti
airtel limited and used by axis bank/amsl to facilitate the provision of the super account.
6.9 the customer shall ensure that the super account is not used for transactions in foreign currency.
7. confidentiality and intellectual property rights
7.1 the customer specifically agree that in order to facilitate the provision of the super account, axis bank/amsl may
be required to disclose any information or particulars pertaining to the customer to any authority, statutory or
regulatory.
7.2 customer acknowledges and agrees that information submitted by the customer for availing the super account or
information submitted while using the super account may be shared with third parties(including but not limited to
bharti airtel limited) by amsl, inter alia, only to facilitate the provision of the super account.
7.2 the user interfaces, graphics, logos, design, compilation, information, computer code (including source code and
object code), products, software, services, and all other elements of the super account provided by the axis
bank/amsl (the "materials") are protected by copyright, designs, patent, and trademark laws, international
conventions and other applicable intellectual property and proprietary rights of either amsl and/or axis bank.
7.3 any information relating to the customer is generally used to provide the super account, improve the super
account services s and otherwise. for a detailed overview of what kind of information amsl collects, stores, uses,
shares, please go through the privacy policy available on amsls website
8. disclaimer of liability
8.1 axis bank/amsl shall not be liable to any customer for any delays, loss of business, profit, revenue or goodwill,
damages, fees costs, expense, etc. or for any indirect or consequential loss, howsoever arising, on super account
being unavailable/usage of super account or otherwise.
8.2 any dispute with or complaint against any merchant establishment must be directly resolved by the customer
with the merchant establishment. it is clarified that axis bank/amsl shall not be responsible or liable for any deficiency
in goods and/or services purchased using the super account. the customer is instructed to satisfy himself regarding
the quality, quantity and fitness of any good and/or service before purchasing the same.
8.3 axis bank/amsl makes no express or implied warranty, guarantee, representation or undertaking whatsoever
regarding the services, which are not expressly mentioned herein.
8.4 axis bank/amsl shall not be responsible for any acts or omissions of any third party including
distributors/retailers/merchants etc., with regard to services which are not expressly authorized by axis bank/amsl.
8.5 axis bank/amsl will do its best to ensure that customer transactions and information remain secure and
confidential. axis bank/amsl makes no warranty or representation of any kind in relation to the system and the
network or their function or performance or for any loss or damage whenever and howsoever suffered or incurred by
the customer or by any person resulting from or in connection with the use of the super account.
9. indemnity
9.1 the customer agrees to indemnify, defend and hold axis bank/amsl harmless from any and all claims, losses,
damages, and liabilities, costs and expenses, including and without limitation legal fees; arising out of or related to
the customers use or misuse of the super account, any violation of these super account-terms and conditions, or any
breach of the representations, warranties, and covenants made by the customer.
10. change of terms
10.1 axis bank/amsl has the sole discretion to change, add / or delete these super account- terms and conditions.
10.2 axis bank may modify, terminate and/or suspend super account of the customer anytime with or without prior
notice, due to any changes in internal policies, rules, regulations and laws set by relevant authorities/regulators.
10.3 amendments made under this clause shall be deemed to be a part of these super account- terms and conditions
and in case of any contradiction the amendment form shall prevail.
10.4 change in super account-terms and conditions shall be communicated to the customer through telephonic calls
or mobile communication including sms or written communication or electronic communication or through website
communication of axis bank or amsl or through any other mode as axis bank may deem fit. by continuing to use the
super account, the customer will be deemed to have accepted the change/s in super account terms and conditions.
11. severability
11.1 if any part of these super account- terms and conditions is adjudged illegal or inoperable for any reason, the
same shall be severed from the remainder of the terms and conditions and only that portion of this terms and
conditions that is specifically adjudged illegal or inoperable shall cease to govern the relationship between axis
bank/amsl and the customer.
12. compliance with law
12.1 these terms and conditions for super account are subject to applicable law and regulations and would be
modified / discontinued based on the prevailing law / regulation at any point of time and neither party shall be under
any liability or obligation till such time the terms are modified by the parties as per the prevailing/ amended law at that
point of time. in the event, that the facility of super account cannot be continued without total compliance of the
prevailing law at any point of time, these terms and conditions shall be deemed to be terminated forthwith from the
date when the amended law restricting / prohibiting the super account comes into force.
13. governing law and jurisdiction
13.1 these super account terms and conditions shall be governed under indian laws and any dispute arising out of
these terms and conditions, shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts at mumbai.
