Introduction
Dear Beta-Partner,
Thank you again for participation in the VX.1 BETA program. Your partnership and feedback is highly
valuable and much appreciated.
You will notice with the Xpedition Enterprise Flow BETA D release that some of the product names,
splash screens, and icons that you are familiar with have changed, in particular the entire flow from
"Expedition" to "Xpedition". We believe the release of Xpedition Enterprise VX.1 will be a significant
milestone for our customers, Mentor Graphics, and the industry and therefore we would like to take the
opportunity to unify our product branding and identity.
The process of changing name references across the flow is now complete with the BETA D release. We
are raising this to your attention now to help minimize confusion through this transition.
Below is a table that will help you become familiar with the new product names.

To test the status of SELinux keyin /usr/sbin/getenforce which will return a one word status such as

License server must be upgraded to Mentor Licensing v2013_2
In order to run EEVX.1 Flow Beta D, your license server must be upgraded to run Mentor Licensing
v2013_2.
All products contained in EEVX.1 Flow BETA D are using v2013_2 and it is delivered with the BETA
install. However, license servers that are being used by the BETA D products that would not otherwise
be impacted by the BETA D install must also be upgraded to run this version of Mentor Licensing.
The upgrade can be loaded from the install media onto your license server via the Manage Licensing
option on the main install menu. Alternatively, the licensing software can be separately downloaded
from SupportNet at http://supportnet.mentor.com/portal?do=releases&id=201305039&prod=C106S128-G159-P11292.
Note that this version of licensing will update the license server to use FlexNet v11.11.1.1, as well as
delivering the compatible version of the Mentor licensing daemon. It does not require regeneration of
existing licenses.
Also note that this version of licensing no longer supports RedHat Enterprise Linux 4 (RHEL4) platforms.

The Select Additional Releases to Unregister and Select Additional Releases to Register buttons allow you
to operate on multiple releases when supported.
NOTE: 7.9.x based releases do not support multiple versions being registered at the same time.
When switching to a 7.9.x based release any currently registered release will be automatically
unregistered.
Page 6
When selecting multiple releases to be registered, the release displayed in the Switch To Release field
will display the default release registered with Windows for file association. Double clicking on a MGC
SDD registered file will automatically open in this version of software. This feature will be useful in the
future when multiple versions of VX based software can be registered and the user wants to change his
default file association.
Once you have selected the release you want to switch from and the release you want to switch to, click
OK. A window will display allowing you to confirm the selections that have been made:

CFGR_INI
When registering and configuring installs on a Windows machine it is possible and recommended to
have the MGC PCB Release Switcher read configuration settings from a standardized file for license
server locations and the WDIR (working directory) locations.
In order to do this, an environment variable called CFGR_INI can be set to point to an .ini file.
For example: CFGR_INI=C:\<MY_LOC>\configurator.ini.
This should be set in the system environment if more than one user uses the Windows machine, or can
be set in the user environment if only one user uses the Windows machine.
The contents of the configurator.ini should look something like this:
[defaults]
MGLS_LICENSE_FILE=27009@<my_server>.domain.com
WDIR_7.9.4EE=C:\WDIR\7.9.4EE
WDIR_7.9.5EE=C:\WDIR\7.9.5EE
WDIR_EEVX_1=C:\WDIR\EEVX.1
The version number after the WDIR_ corresponds to the install location of the software under the
C:\MentorGraphics\ root directory. Substitute the WDIR paths for the desired location for the WDIR.
Keep in mind that it is not recommended to share WDIR locations between any Mentor Graphics SDD
software releases.
